1. Halloween Closet
--------------------------------------------------------
liannegensler - 11/14/2011 8:49 pm
To all those that borrowed costumes:Halloween has come
and gone and it's time to return your costumes please.
Without your returns, we will have no closet next year.
It's not ok to hold on to them until next year when
the closet reopens. You can drop them off outside the
front door in a bag. I am at 237 14th Avenue between
California and Clement. Preferably before 1pm or after
4pm as the dog tends to bark and the kids nap between
those hours. Alternatively, I work at UCSF (Parnassus
Campus) and you can drop it off there too. You are
welcome to add to the closet if you wish. thanks,
lianne

Hi all,Not sure if my email is linked to the Preemie
closet. I have been getting emails directly pretty
regularly but it seems like that may not be happening
lately (will check on that this week). Please email me
directly at helenlinsang at yahoo.com if you need anything
from the closet or would like to drop off any
clothes. Thanks to everyone for all the donations! The
clothes are very appreciated and help out many
members.Helen--- On Mon, 11/14/11, Hilary Ware

we took our boys down to Santa Barbara for a 2 week
vacation when they were 6months (3 months corrected
age) and it was amazing. The timing worked really well
to leave in the morning, stop in Santa Cruz for a long
break and feeding then again near San Lois Obispo for
another feeding before arriving around 3/4. It was an
incredible trip for the 4 of us and we didn't have to
worry about planes/airports or time zone changes. We
found 2 excellent vrbos and used care.com for
babysitter who changed our perspective on how great a
nanny can be. Encinitas in Mexico is another close
trip.good luck!

Definitely call the airline you'll be flying ahead of
time, if you have concerns. I think there's actually
some rule now AGAINST limiting the amount of
breastmilk a woman can transport - that things have
lightened up since those days we all heard about, of
people having to demonstrate its safety by drinking it
at security. You just have to be really open and
pro-active about declaring it. Actually, here's the
official blurb, from the TSA
site:http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/formula.shtm
You might want to print/bring that with you, in case
you encounter any TSA agents that might not be up to
speed on this. I brought an insulated bag with gel ice
packs, and then refrigerated everything I could,
whenever I could, and it actually worked out pretty
well, and I managed not to have to throw anything out.
I think I had a second insulated bag that I also put in
my checked luggage, just in case - and those are kept
really cold in flight.Just make sure your pump has it's
own powersource if need be - I was ALL OVER O'Hare
airport looking for an outlet for my older model, and
could not find one ANYWHERE... it got very
uncomfortable. Good luck to you - safe and happy
travels!
