badenm - 10/3/2011 11:34 pm

The new format of the sale, while requiring way less
volunteers from the group and making more money for
sellers, ends up costing the club a lot of money. In
order to subsidize the sale this fall, we're going to
hold a raffle. This is where you come in... we need your
donations to make the raffle a success!- Do you have
49er season tickets and are willing to give up one
game?- Do you own a small business and have something
to offer (you will get advertising for your business)?-
Could you donate babysitting or event planning
 services?Then we NEED you!!!Please e-mail me directly
at vicepresident at sfpom.org by Thursday 10/6 with your
 info and donation.Thanks,Michelle Foss

2. Cry It Out
--------------------------------------------------------
carrieplaskett - 10/3/2011 10:13 pm

We are starting to get to the point where we are "sleep
training" our 4.5 month old twin boys. How is this
"CIO" thing suppose to work with TWO babies???? One
down, two down. One screams, two screams?! This is all
a little bit frightening. I have been pretty successful
putting them to bed and letting them self sooth with
limited crying. I am just anticipating the middle of
the night wakings and how it is going to work out
logistically. There are times when they can ignore each
other, but they can also wake each other up. Any
suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

3. Barely used Prius for sale
--------------------------------------------------------
carole - 10/3/2011 9:39 pm

Dear friends,This summer our dear friend and twin dad
Ronn Ellis lost his battle withcancer. His practically
brand new white Prius is for sale. If you or anyoneyou
know might be interested, the contact information for
Karen Elmhirst isbelow. Photos are available, but can¹t
be attached on BigTent. The car is inNovato. For Sale:
One beautiful, gently (and barely) used, 2010 Prius V
hybrid. Here are the specs:- 2010 Prius V (fully
loaded)- Blizzard Pearl exterior; dark grey leather
interior- 14,161 miles‹it¹s just getting warmed up!-
Consistent 42-45 mpg on the highway (big gas $avings)-
GPS navigation system- Bluetooth connection; iPhone
jack- Heated front seats, plus A/C- Rear seats that
recline and split for lots of cargo space- Rear camera
for safety while backing up- 17² alloy wheels- Fog
lights- Emits over 70% fewer smog-forming emissions
than the average new vehicleHere is a link with more
information on the car. Scroll down to find the ³V²trim
 package.http://www.edmunds.com/toyota/prius/2010/.Given
the low mileage and upgraded features, Edmunds
appraises this car at$26,474 for a private sale and at
$28,038 from a dealer. We¹ll let it go for$25,950. For
an additional $50, we can transfer Ronn's 75,000 mile
extendedwarranty to the new owner.Full disclosure: The
one very small sign of previous ownership is a fewminor
surface blemishes on the bottom right corner of the
back bumper, whereRonn accidentally backed into some
trash cans. I've included the photo"bumperouch",
showing the very minor marks made.I would keep this
car, but I own one almost exactly like it (tan
leather, instead). You can tell I'm a fan. :-)Please
forward this info on to anyone who might be interested.
To see andtest drive the car; please email Karen
Elmhirst atkaren.elmhirst at comcast.net or callKaren at
 415.898.1426.

4. House/office cleaner recommendation
--------------------------------------------------------
kaska_kowanetz - 10/3/2011 3:40 pm

Our house cleaner, Marleny Alvarez, is looking for more
work, including office cleaning. She is great, very
efficient (she cleans together with her sister). We
fully trust her, she came recommended by other SFPOM
members. She has been with us for about 2 years. Her
 number is 415-424-1905.

If I had choice, I would move while pregnant. If you
can hire helpers, you can supervise them without
distraction. With babies I was busy 24/7.

I moved while I was pregnant with my twins which was
totally manageable. I had a great pregnancy until
suddenly at 35 weeks when I had to be induced. Although
I live really close to the hospital, I would have had
plenty of time to get their. However, after 30 weeks I
had frequent routine trips to the doctor which you
would have to consider if you were driving a longer
distance. Also, they boys stayed in NICU for just over
a week. The thought of a move during those first couple
months would seem impossible to me. The boys are now
4.5 months and the thought of a move at this point
would seem more manageable. So I guess my suggestion
would be to move when pregnant or wait until they are a
couple months old. Maybe read some of the discussions
that have been posted about the routine/issues with
newborn twins. But, whenever the move happens, I'm sure
 you can make it work!

Thank you so much for all your responses. It really
helped me to make my decision. I think we'll move
before the babies are born. Thanks again!
