1. Fall Consignment Sale
--------------------------------------------------------
deborahgranelli - 10/14/2011 9:44 pm
Letter From Consignment Sale Co-ChairDear SFPOM Club
Members,As most of you have heard, we had to make the
unfortunate decision to cancel the Fall Consignment
Sale scheduled for October 15th. I know many of our
Club members depend on the sale for the great deals to
be had, especially in these economic times. This
decision was not taken lightly. The 6 or so people on
the Consignment Sale team collectively put in over
volunteer 100 hours in prior to cancelling: contracting
the venue, designing flyers, advertising, putting up
flyers, organizing sign ups, sending out
correspondence, contacting venders, getting insurance,
ordering racks, lining up ATMs, vetting ways for
sellers to take credit cards, contacting sponsors, etc.
It's a tremendous effort to organize and it was more
than an unfortunate decision to have to make. This is
not to mention the effort and hours potential sellers
already put in and the effort it is currently taking to
cancel the event and contact everyone we contracted
with to let them know.In our Spring Sale we made a huge
change to the format. We set up a tradeshow/swap meet
style event. This was done to help our member sellers
keep all of their profits. More money stayed in
members' pockets. It also greatly reduced the number of
volunteers it took to run the event. The original sale
format required approximately 100 volunteers; the
Spring sale format called for approximately 40. For the
Fall Sale, we made a few more changes, and needed only
30 volunteers. Unfortunately, we only had 12 sign up.
We couldn't make the sale happen with only 12
volunteers working shifts on the 2 days.Similarly, very
few club members signed up to sell. At the Spring sale
we were sold out, so for this sale we rented a bigger
room that could accommodate up to 50 sellers.
Unfortunately only 11 members registered to sell and,
even with the handful of non-member sellers, it would
have made for a very weak sale overall.I welcome any
feedback you may have in reference to the consignment
sale. Our goal is to create an event that our
membership wants to be involved in. We will try again
in the spring of 2012 and hopefully we will have a
successful and fun event. If you have any comments or
suggestions, please send them to the consignment sale
team at: consignmentsale at sfpom.orgRegards,Deborah
GranelliConsignment Sale Co-Chair

3. Looking for part-time nanny
--------------------------------------------------------
bakardjieva - 10/14/2011 11:09 am
We are looking for a part-time, live-out nanny for
afternoons and early evenings on weekdays, and
occasional weekends. We need someone who can drive. We
have 3 children. Our oldest son is 6 years old and is
in first grade and an afterschool program. Twice/week
we need someone to pick-up him up from elementary
school at 1:50pm, bring him to an enrichment class in
the afternoon and help with homework. Our twins are 3
years old and are in preschool (full day). We need the
nanny to pick them up at 4pm 3x/week, drive them home,
help with dinner and bath time. We are estimating the
need for ~20 hours/week on a regular basis, and would
like to find someone who is looking for a long-term
position. Recommendations for a particular person or
how to best find someone like this are appreciated.

4. Portable Potty
--------------------------------------------------------
rockchalk90 - 10/14/2011 9:26 am
Hello, just checking to see if there is anyone that
wants to get rid of their portable potty. We have a
little girls soccer team that would benefit from one
because the bathroom is on the other side of the field.
Please let me know. Thanks!!

I have one you can have. I got it from someone else,
but never used it since we put our youngest on a toilet
insert instead. I live near CPMC on California.
