Is there a warm pool in the city that offers toddler
swim classes (2.5 yr old) and isn't too expensive?
 Thanks!

La Petite Baleen in the Presidio has warm pools. An
adult must be with them in the pool until they turn 3,
then they can be in the pool with just the instructor.
If you decide to take lessons there, please mention my
name as I can earn a referral credit.I also remember
the small pool at the Presdio YMCA is also warm. My
older boys took lessons here and my youngest is at LPB.

Hi, we did all kinds of swim classes in the city (and
non classes) (there are warm pools at UC Baker, North
Beach pool, and Pomeroy near the zoo) and in the end,
the kids really didn't learn much of anything (I used
to call it the 'pole dance class' because they used to
mostly swing aroudn the handrails into the pool! I
wish now that we had bitten the bullet and just gone to
La Petite Baleen from the start. It costs more, but
they are really brilliant in how the teach the kids and
get them swimming quickly. Our guys started there at 4
years old and they went from fearful non-swimmers to
pretty good little swimmers quickly. I highly
recommend it even though it's pricey, you get their
skills up quickly. Good luck and happy swimming!

Hi!Our kids have been at La Petite Baleen since they
were 4 years 3 months. They are now 5 years 9 months
and almost done with the program, turned in to little
fishes! The pool is very warm, having gone to the
family swim times. Teachers are really excellent
there!Under 4 an adult must be in the pool. It comes
out to be $20/lesson. Each lesson is 30 minutes. Kinda
pricey, but we've found it well worth it.If you go,
feel free to mention students Sean & Sarah Caulder.
They will get a little credit ($20) on tuition for the
referral. Good luck!Susan--- On Sun, 4/22/12, Adrienne

I agree with PP that only LPB teaches real swimming.
Our kids got really bored at J. Pomeroy center and
refused to go after half a year even though they love
water. If you just want to splash - Pomeroy is great
for a month or two. Now they can't wait to swim at LPB

If you email me I'll send you our housekeeper's name
and number. She's been working for us for about 10
years and I've also recommended her successfully to
 several other families.

Hi Lisa,I just travelled to NY with my 14 month old
walking twins! It is NOT easy...1. We have Britax
Marathon and they are way too big for airplane seats.
We flew Jetblue and their seats are only 17" wide.
There is one very inexpensive car seat which fits
airline seats -- it is made by cosco and it is
 relatively cheap.

I believe they also sell it at Target...(Checking the
carseats is FREE)2. We did not bring car seats with
us. We brought lots of little toys with us and every
hours or so they would pick out a new toy to play with.
It was weird, they mostly sat on our laps even though
they each had their own seat. We did a lot of walking
up and down the aisle. 3. We used 2 cheap umbrella
stroller which were less than 8lbs each and bought an
attachment to hook them together. Super easy to use

Do not know about any iphone apps as my phone is circa
2002, lol..5. Bring your own milk!!! Many airlines do
not have real milk. I put the milk in their baby
bottles to get through security and then poured them
into sippy cups. Bring lots of different snacks and
bring their meals with you. Put everything in a ziploc
bags. I brought some of their favorites -- like mums,
puffs, chicken, pasta and teething biscuits. Also
brought a couple of avocados and bananas -- their
favorite. This may sound stupid-- but make sure they
are wearing the heavy duty diapers so they feel drier
longer. (Our flight back, I could not change their
diapers as the flight was very turbulent and the fasten
seat belt sign was on.)I will not lie, it was not easy.
I tried to get them down for a nap, as well. They
slept about 2 hours. My elbows are still sore from the
travelling.Let me know, if you need additional
information-- message me on fb. I hope that
 helps.Wendy
