Sending encouragement your way. What really helped me
was that a sleep consultant told us that you are
teaching a skill - getting to sleep and staying asleep,
and part do the crying is giving them a chance to learn
and master this skill. It is tough to listen to them
cry, but hopefully it will only go on for a few nights,
and you will feel so much better with more sleep. Good
 luck!

Hi Caroline,As you know, I used the Baby Sleep Solution
(12 hours by 12 weeks) that some others have
recommended on this forum. So, not exactly the same
method. Given that, I'll just comment on the paci and
the swaddle... We ditched the swaddle right before we
got serious about sleep training - just a few days
before. We were worried about them rolling over when
they got so worked up and not being able to get back.
We also wanted their arms free for self-soothing.
Sleep sacks have worked great for us - still contains
their legs a bit and them seem to like that - but their
arms are free (they also still rotate 180 degrees
during the night w/ them on!). They did not complain
about the loss of the swaddle at all - and if I
remember correctly, it was the same night we moved them
to separate cribs. I thought there would be more drama
from the disruption, but not in our case.We also kept
the paci - partly bc it helped them learn to put
themselves to sleep, and partly bc I was adamant about
not picking them up, so when I reached the limit on
crying (only about 15 mins for the method we used), the
pacis were helpful to soothe them. I did switch pacis
(we were using Soothies, but those fall out what feels
like every 2 mins, so we moved to Nuk for nights and
have had better luck). I also stopped the reinsertion
of paci game - I'd give them the paci, rub bellies,
shush them, and then leave the room once they were
calm. If they spit out the paci 5 mins later, I didn't
go back (after a few horrible nights falling asleep
between their cribs while holding two pacis in, I
learned my lesson!).Good luck! So hard, but so very
worth it for you and them.Sarah

I used the boppys while tandem feeding as well. Now
the cats find the boppys much more useful than the
twins:-)helpful, but not necessary...i had gotten two
at the suggestion of my night doula. We bottle feed them
in their bouncy seats, and have been doing that for
quite sometime now. They are 8.5 months.

 We pay $25. I have 7 month twins & a 4 yr old. I'm a
SAHM. Nanny helps me f/t. We do everything together.
She will occasionally handle all three for a couple
hrs, but we are generally wrkg together. She has a CA
DL, fluent in English, but no other language. I like
our nanny. I think our pay is on high end bc she is not
bilingual (I gave up on it bc hard to find one with a
DL) and doesn't have early childhood development
education. Prior nannies met all my requirements, but
moved on to teaching careers. I'm ok with pay on high
end bc I like her, my kids like her and she can keep up
with family needs. I had a prior bad experience and I
value who I have now. We started @ $22/hr
