Everyone says to keep twins on the same eating and sleeping

Mine are ~ 6 weeks old (7 lbs 10 oz and 5 lbs 12 oz at
birth) and we have had good luck with the feeding
schedule. Our situation is a little different because
we are breastfeeding, but what helped us is that we
allowed both boys to BF for the same amount of time,
but then we supplemented the little one with 1 oz of
extra formula or pumped milk after every feed. The goal
was to go AT LEAST two hours, but hopefully 2.5 hrs,
between feedings. We would then force the big one to
eat on the little one's schedule. I think he began
eating a little less at each feed in response, because
sometimes he pulls off the breast after 10-15 min (we
let the little one eat for 25 if he wants). We have had
a couple of days where the little one screeches before
2-2.5 hrs is up, but then we give him a little snack--
one oz-- and hold off on a full meal until the next
time. My only advice is to make sure the little one is
actually hungry-- my husband always thinks they're
hungry when they cry but if they can be soothed by
rocking, jiggling, sucking on fingers or pacis and they
ate less than two hours ago I say they're not hungry
unless they're REALLY rooting! As for sleeping, I think
they're FINALLY starting to align maybe this week. The
big one was sleeping more during the day and the little
one was sleeping more at night. What helped us was
working to keep the sleepy one up for at least ten min
after a couple of daytime feeds, and then wrapping them
REALLY warmly when they go down for a nap or to sleep
(a footie onesie plus a fleece swaddlers and hat). I
think my bigger guy was just waking up because he was
cold, but the jury's still out because the sleeping
thing is just so new.I don't know if any of this stuff
will work for you--if having infant twins has taught me
anything it's that babies can be very, very different
from one another-- but maybe one of these tricks might
help? Good luck!
