LKChop - 12/15/2012 10:05 pm

Hello all,Taking a long flight with my two 21 month old
boys this week and we're planning to download movies
for them to watch to keep them busy on the plane (as
best we can). They've never watched tv other than the
occasional baseball game, so we're looking for
suggestions for movies or tv shows that might be the
right pace for their age and lack of
 video-experience.Any strong recommendations for videos
that have worked miracles for you? Thanks!Laurie

2. Swing vs Bouncy Seat?

I'm getting ready for my twins due this February,
boy/girl. I'm researching bouncy seats vs swings and I
can't seem to figure out what might be the best for my
babes so I'm reaching out to the wisdom of all the POM
out there that might have some insight for me. Any
advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!

My girls didn't use the swings much, but used the
bouncy seats a lot. They still use them for story time,
they just turned one. They uses the swing maybe a total
of 7 times. I'd say go for the bouncy seats. You can
bottle feed them in the seats and do story time. When
my daughter had a terrible cold she slept in the seat
in or two nights because she couldn't lie down. Good
 luck!

We have both - fisher price bouncy seats (we actually
have two of these) and a fisher price swing (we happen
to have two of these as well, but don't use both
because they both don't fit in our place very well).
My babies (preemies and are 12 weeks old) don't like
the bouncy seats but love the swing. I'd say it all
depends on your babies. You can bottle feed them in
bouncy seats, but you can also do that in boppies or
 rock-a-bye loungers, etc. I think the rock-a-bye
loungers are great. I recommend getting a few
different options of seating (bouncy, swing, lounger,
boppy, etc.) for your babies. It gives them different
view points and you never know what they will like
 until you try it.

Agree with above. Get both. Our daughter loved to nap
in her swing and our son liked the bouncy more. You
just never know and its goos to have options in the
beginning. Congratulations and good luck with
 everything. Exciting times ahead...

wongamo - 12/15/2012 4:24 pm

We are looking for a PT nanny to help primarily with
transporting our twins. Ideal hours would be M - F 4:30
 pm - 6:30 pm + M / T am 8 - 9 am if available but we
would settle for just the afternoon shift. Must have
experience with caring for preschool age children,
multiple children and excellent references. Needs to
have own care. Would be reimbursed competitive hourly
rate + mileage. Preschool is in SOMA/ home is in Sunset
district. Duties include pick up, bath time, playing
until dinner, and possible transport to a swim class on
Thursdays. If your nanny is looking to supplement her
hours or you know of somebody who would like this
 schedule, please contact me at
 wongamo at sbcglobal.netThanks! Angela
