We used care.com to hire our nanny last year, and I
thought it was definitely worth it for that purpose. I
spent more time weeding through applicants than I would
have if I used an agency, but all of the people we
ultimately interviewed were very qualified and also
worked with agencies. We ended up saving thousands of
dollars on the agency fee that we would have paid to
hire our nanny if we went the other route. In short,
there are definitely quality care givers on care.com,
but you have to spend a bit of time to weed out those
who fall short of your criteria.Since our nanny also
babysits for us, I have not used care.com for sitters
or other help, so I don't know whether an on-going
membership for that purpose is worth it.

We LOVE care.com!! We found two excellent nannies, and
about 6 different babysitters we've used. All
wonderful, trusting care givers. The thing to know is
that you need to remember to go in and cancel your
subscription or it auto-renews on your credit card at
the rate of about $60 per 3 months. I didn't realize
this until over a year! We posted nanny jobs and got
50-60 applicants, then narrowed them down first by
where they lived (too long of commute time) and then by
who had background checks completed, then by how we
felt about their bio, experience, etc. We would
interview 4-5 people and the choice was always clear
each time we went through the process. I continue to
use care.com and have had only positive experiences.
If you want to read our standing bio, we're under
"Holly B" in Truckee, CA. If you would like an example
of an ad we posted I'd be happy to email one to you.
 Good luck!

Point of consideration.you may want to consider
ordering fewer diapers than the recommended. With
tinytots you prepay the first month, so if it ends up
not being right for your situation, you end up being
 out double.
