Hi! Congratulations on your soon to be born twins! We
bought a cosleeper (a pac n play would work too) and
put that in the living room, and placed Boppy newborn
loungers on top of the highest level. We let the
babies sleep/relax in there during the day, then they
slept together in a crib at night (until we realized
they had reflux, at which point we had them sleep in
small swings at night to keep them upright). Hope that
 helps!

We loved the Moses baskets. We bought the stands, too,
and used them in the living room during the day - we
have a dog too! During the night we put the baskets in
each crib. It's cozier than lying in the great big crib
and they are swaddled so they aren't rolling into the
padded sides of the baskets. We had them in moses
baskets in their cribs for the first three months.

We used a pack n' play, actually two of them, in
different rooms during those first few months. One was
in our bedroom and the other was in the office where
our doula stayed with the boys on the nights she was
here. We didn't use the boys' cribs until they were 4
months old. To reinforce and flatten out the bassinet
of the pack n plays - and to ease the transition
between the boys' sleeping places - we bought 2
snuggle nests at our doula's recommendation and liked
them. They are now for sale, if you're interested in
them.We still use the pack n' plays now as a temporary
holding area when we're going up and down the stairs
with one kid at a time - our boys are one year old.
The pack n' play was also handy as a portable crib when
 my niece was visiting. Congratulations!Jennifer

We also have a two-story. We went right to the crib at
night. We have 2 but they are still sharing 1 at 11
weeks old. Downstairs they shared a bassinet for the
first 4 weeks or so. Now I use it when I have to put
one down somewhere safe for a minute but they no longer
like to sleep in it I think maybe because they cant see
out the sides. Most invaluable for us were the swings.
We have two downstairs and they nap in them during the
day. I plan to start training them to nap in their
crib(s) in a few weeks. I also put a pack n play in the
bathroom during the week when my husband is working and
they hang out in there when I shower. I had it in the
living room for awhile but they wont sleep in it.
There's a lot of trial and error so dont spend a lot on
anything. We are constantly using craigslist and sfpom
to get stuff to try or a second of something we've
found works! Good luck and congratulations!

Congrats on your babies! We bought each of ours a
Stokke crib and set one up in the living room and the
other in the nursery. They are a great size and are
narrow enough to be rolled from room to room. My guys
will be 3 years old next month and still sleep in them.
We'll convert them to toddler beds if they ever figure
out how to climb out. They are a great investment new,
but also one of the only cribs you can legally buy
 used.
