There have been some recent threads about difficult
toddler behavior. I wanted to let everyone know about
a seminar I'm going to be taking starting next week
called the Discipline Class that is taught by the
director of my preschool. She offers it every year and
parents I know who have taken it have told me it
changed their family dynamic for the better in a huge
way. It's 4-5 nights in March on Wednesdays or
Thursdays - a huge time commitment! But wanted to let
other toddler twin parents know in case they were
interested. For me, my largely docile and compliant two
year olds have been morphing into more difficult almost
three year olds and I am really looking forward to
finding some lasting strategies. More info

Congrats! My mon di twins are now 8 weeks. We had the
same monitoring with ultrasounds, NSTs and doctor
visits. I was induced at 37 weeks, Both were head down
so I delivered vaginally. I consider myself very lucky
to have avoided complications associated with mono di's
and a much dreaded cesarean. I guess it's best to
expect the worse and hope for the best! My boys ended
up weighing 6.9lbs each and no time in the NICU. We
did have to return to the hospital a couple days later
because one needed to go under the lights for jaundice.
Best of luck to you! Stay positive :D

Hi,My mono/di twins are now active, chubby, friendly,
normal 21-month olds, and they didn't start out that
way. I had such a low placenta that it was termed
partial previa, so I delivered by C-section. (Side
note: my first child was delivered vaginally, and
while a wonderful experience, was not as easy of a
recovery for me as the C-section). It was a scheduled
delivery at 35 weeks, earlier than usual because the
twins' growth rate was slowing down, which was a big
concern (also my "advanced age" of 40 at the time).
The boys were both slightly more than 3.5 lbs at birth,
some jaundice, but breathed on their own. They spent 2
weeks in the NICU until they could hold temperature and
bottle-feed without a feeding tube. I have no regrets
about any of the decisions made by us or the doctors.
While it was unfortunate that the time in the NICU
meant that breastfeeding didn't work out (couldn't
overcome the additional hurdles of not making enough
milk and them learning to feed on a bottle), and they
also developed an enduring pacifier addiction, it was
worth those sacrifices for the most healthy
outcome.Anyway, message is that even little preemies
can now make it just fine with the right care! If you
are making it to 36 weeks with no signs of issues, you
are in good shape! My doctors at CPMC were Dr. Otto
(Awesome skills), Dr. Main (great advice), Dr. Farner
(been my wonderul OB/GYN for 10 years), and Dr. Cabrera
(another dynamo in Dr. Farner's group). Congrats--and
 rest up!
