1. Time to wean?
--------------------------------------------------------
rinnigan - 2/22/2012 10:44 pm
My boys just turned 1, and I've managed to keep
breastfeeding up until now. I want to keep nursing, but
they're 1! It's time to wean, isn't it?I'd love to hear
from other moms who have recently weaned. When did you
stop? Did you feel you stopped from pressure (people
saying "you're STILL breastfeeding?!") or was it just
the right time? How did you know it was the right
time?BTW, I am working 4 days a week and the idea of
not carrying a pump with me everywhere is mighty
appealing... but losing cuddle time with my boys is
not.

Hi, can you please let me know if you have a favorite
kid friendly place to stay in Hawaii. I need to book a
place for us in April. My twins are 7 years old. We
don't know any of the islands so any information you
can share is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for all the encouragement and for sharing
your stories. We are now reeling from a 29 week
ultrasound showing that one baby has enlarged brain
ventricles - scary, scary. MRI later this week.
Definitely struggling to stay positive, but trying.

We also have 2 girls, but found the Baby Bjorns with
the removable potty part GREAT for at home. The base
part was sturdy and didn't slide around, and it was
easy to lift out the insert for emptying/rinsing, etc.
DEFINITELY plan on getting 2, for simultaneous use.We
had (still have) a second set of the one-piece Baby
Bjorns that live in the car for going
out/driving/emergencies, but those are handy cause they
nest and take up less space. (We keep a garbage bag
handy for wrapping them up when needed, along with a
bag of gear to facilitate that process on the road: TP
(and a ziploc to throw it in after, um, use), paper
towel, wipes, etc. and a big bottle of water for
rinsing them out so the car doesn't get smelly.) Sure
beats stopping to change diapers!Good luck to you with
potty-training!

Congrats to you! Parenting is FULL of surprises, and
this won't be the last!! There's always SOMETHING, I
think, that we might like to happen a little
differently than it does... but (I've found) very
often - we learn in retrospect how perfectly the
unexpected actually worked out. Often the universe
somehow seems to know things we don't... I think
sometimes, too, there's a lot of good to be found in
encountering the un- (or LESS) expected, because then
we bring fewer preconceptions to it, and can be more
honestly open to it. I can't remember who said it, but
I've always like the quote, "That which was the least
expected was all the more highly esteemed" - and
perhaps that will wind up being the case for you! At
least now you have some time to warm up to the idea.In
our case, we wanted it to be a surprise - but somehow
I felt PRETTY SURE we were having boys, or 1 of each.
Somehow the thought of 2 girls never occurred to either
of us... so THAT was a surprise - but we couldn't have
been more delighted (then, or now) with the 2 little
people that we got! They are who they are, right from
the get-go, and it's amazing to watch them develop &
grow, as unique individuals. I guess you're getting to
start earlier than we did! Good luck to you, with
everything! : )

Congratulations on your twins! Are you still looking
for some help? My sister is a Montessori-trained
teacher who is currently looking for a nanny position.
She's had twin experience helping me with my twins
too.

Hi there,I've heard good things about the Maclaren Twin
Techno. How many months did you have to wait before the
twins could comfortably ride in the side-by-side
stroller?Thanks!

We had a decidely NOT lightweight Urban Buggy (or
something like that) which was awesome as an ATV...
but also picked up a small, lightweight, super
collapsible double Jeep Double Stroller, for short
jaunts, and it was great for that. No cupholders,
cause it's an umbrella style - but the lightness
