I don't know if I have the strength to make it to 38
weeks. My belly is so big that can barely walk, sit,
sleep, eat. I'm 5'2". I've gained the right amt of
weight, but my belly is just sooo heavy. I know it's
best for babies to "cook" aonther 13 days, but it seems
like an eternity to me. How far did you make it?Do u
want to share our story.I'm hanging on by a thread and
looking for encouragement. My first pregnancy was so
easy. This has been so hard from the start. I was soooo
sick for so long and ten I got big real fast. I have a
c-section scheduled for 1/19--my 3.5 yr old was
delivered via c-section bc she was breached (we were
unable to turn her). Vbac is not an option. Any other
tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Happy New Year to Everyone! The speaker series is being
finalized for the first half of 2012. I encourage you
to get the most out of your membership by attending
many of these presentations given by experts in their
fields. The first event in the series, "Was That Me
Yelling?" by Rona Renner, temperament specialist, will
be held on Tuesday, Jan 31st at the Presidio Sports
Basement near Chrissy Field. This venue holds up to 40
people and there is plenty of parking. Meet other
parents while you enjoy a light dinner, drinks and a
great presentation. Other upcoming Presidio Sports
Basement speaking events include "Getting Back in Shape
After Having Multiples", "Married with Twins", "Your
Children are Listening: Nine Messages They Need to Hear
From You", "Kids Protection Planning. and a "Preschool

Presented by Rona Renner, RNNEW LOCATIONPRESIDIO SPORTS
BASEMENTYelling can be caused by stress, fatigue,
depression, anger, or other reasons. Most parents agree
that yelling isn't beneficial, but many report that
they just don't know what to do when their children
misbehave. We will discuss how to come up with a plan
and learn more about what triggers your yelling.Rona
has concentrated for the last 20 years of her
professional life on parent education and community
outreach. She is the host of the Childhood Matters
radio program. A graduate of the Brooklyn College
School of Nursing, Rona was also trained by Kaiser
Permanente as a temperament specialist. She leads
parenting workshops focusing on temperament, behavior
and anger management, and attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)—among her areas of
expertise—and consults with parents on a wide range
 of concerns.NEW LOCATIONTHE PRESIDIO SPORTS
BASEMENTSnacks, a light dinner and drinks will be
served.Event Details but my 3 yr old girls have shown
zero interest in moving out of their cribs and have
never tried to climb out of them (which is when I've
always heard you transition to beds). An added
complication is that we don't have room for 2 twin beds
in their nursery, which is attached to our room, so
when we do move them into beds they will be sharing a
bedroom one floor down from us. So I'm wondering:1.
What age is typical for making the transition (and
assuming they never ask you for it, do you just decide
for them at some point?)2. At what age would you have
felt comfortable having your kids sleep on a different
floor of the house?3. Do you still have a monitor once
they graduate to beds?4. Any advice on making the
 switch successfully?Thanks in advance!

For what it's worth - our transition did come when our
boys gleefully discovered they could successfully vault
out of their cribs every time we put them back in (at
about 2 yrs old), but that said the transition was much
smoother than we expected. We have three levels in our
house and their bedroom is on the middle level, our
living area is upstairs and our bedroom all the way
downstairs. We have handled this by putting a child
lock on their door so they can't open it to get out
(since they would then have access to the front door,
or rickety stairs to our bedroom in the dark). We now
have a routine for going to bed (or nap) with them
where we go into their bedroom and ideally get them
settled down enough to lay down before we leave. If
all goes well they then sleep. If not, they play in
the room until they go to sleep on their own. Took
them 1-2 nights to get used to sleeping in a bed and
falling out isn't an issue for us (although they do it
sometimes) since the beds are so low to the ground.
Our boys are loud enough to hear if they are awake,
asleep, hungry, annoyed, fighting, etc. from a floor
away so no monitor is necessary.Good luck!

Sort of a related topic, my husband plans to transition
our boys from cribs to have them share a regular full
sized bed, almost yard off the floor. Is that like
 next to impossible to execute?
