Hi all-- I am currently 36w4d pregnant with di-di twins
boys, and at my growth scan this morning they had
grossly different estimated weights-- Twin B was 5 lbs
11 oz (23rd %tile) and Twin A was a massive 7 lbs 15
oz, which is 90th %tile! Twin B has always been a
little smaller but never crossed the 20% difference
threshold until today's scan. The doctor came in and
talked to me and said he wasn't worried given that a)
they're both reasonable sizes, with A just being
ENORMOUS, b) all info (doppler scans, antenatal tests)
indicate that neither twin is stressed, and c) how
close I am to giving birth (my C section is scheduled
for the week after next). BUT he also told me to keep
an eye on B's movement and make sure there were no
changes-- unfortunately they're so big now that it's
hard to tell who's moving when a lot of the time! A
couple of questions for you twin moms:1) Did any of you
have such discordant sizes? And did both babies turn
out healthy?2) Does this mean one of them is destined
to be small? My husband is not the tallest guy in the
world and he has been worried from the beginning that
one would be a runt and the other would be 6 foot
plus...

Granted, I had preemies, but the Doctor's final
estimated weight was 30% off. I also know others who
had radically incorrect weight estimations towards the
end. I'm interested in hearing what others have to
say, but I would say allow yourself to consider that
the information isn't entirely correct.

My boys were born at 35w/5d--one was 7lbs and the other
was 5.5 lbs. and at 5.5 years old, pretty much they
have both always been ~20% apart in size. The big one
is crazy off the charts in height and the "little" one
is at 99% on the charts in height. Funny tho they
weigh about the same now--but until recently their
weight followed the same differenceSo for me they are
just very different little boys. :)Best of luck!!Sent

my girls were born at 38 weeks, and the tiny one was
4lb 1oz, and the big one was 5lb 9oz. They were
actually more discordant than they originally thought.
I am a tiny person (5ft tall) and my husband is 6 feet
tall. I think the little one is just little :-) and the
big one is more like her daddy :-)Different people, and
different strokes for different folks! Good luck!

My boys just turned 3 and they gave exhibited a keen
interest in running after a ball and kicking it and
also the piano. What age is good to start them in
soccer, music? Any recommendations of places / clubs
that would accept 3 year olds? And what other programs
and activities would you recommend? They are in school
full time, so needs to be after school or weekends.
Thanks.

My daughter has mild Torticollis and was diagnosis a
bit "late" at 6 months. She's now 9 months and seems
better. I think she might have some mild muscle
unevenness for a while but you really have to look for
it. More importantly she is developing more 'normal'
now. I can't speak highly enough of Susan Kerns at the
Vaness St. Child's PT services. We've haven't had any
luck getting Blue Shield PPO to cover any of her
appointments. My warning before you go down this road
is to check the coverage on 'rehab services' with your
health plan.It hasn't been a big deal to treat, and
utterly fascinating to find out more about motor skills
development. If you have worries, please feel free to
call and I'll share my
experience.-Viriginia415.459.5906

I live in Noe with 8 month old g/b. I'm down to meet. I
tried going to La Boulange on Fridays but I don't think
that group meets there anymore. I'm open to meeting
anywhere.
