We went through a rough time with one of our girls when
she learned to roll over. She couldn't roll back yet
and didn't like being on her belly, and it also meant
she lost her pacifier, which was a crisis of the
highest order. We were up all night long flipping her
over for weeks until finally we instituted sleep
training. In about a week, she learned to sleep on her
belly and started sleeping through the night again
 (mostly).

Holly! You rock. I really appreciate the advice. I
was leaning towards "don't do it" but was feeling like
a wimp and thought I should just go for it. I know
others have managed it before (well, at least singleton
parents), but I think everyone will have more fun if we
are patient and wait until they are bit older. Many
 thanks for the POV.

Hi Gabrielle. We echo everyone's comments about Noe
Valley, and recommend, too, Cole Valley, Bernal
Heights, and the Inner Sunset, our current, very
family-friendly neighborhood, which has a great
proximity to Golden Gate Park and a laid-back feeling.
I used to live in Noe Valley, and I can also confirm
that it has always been welcoming for families. My
husband, Adrian, is from the UK. We are the parents of
three-year-old boy/girl twins. We hope you have a good
transition to San Francisco, and please don't hesitate
to contact us if you have any questions, get homesick
for things from Old Blighty (There are Brit import
stores here.), or want another perspective on parenting
toddler twins in the Bay Area.Best of luck,Adrian and
 Erika Inner Sunset San Francisco
