1. Traveling alone with twins

Hello,I am just curious when people started feeling
comfortable flying solo with their kids. I did it with
the kids once when they were 5 months old and not
mobile - it was easy because it was a short flight from
LA to SF. They are 14 months now and walking/running
everywhere and the flight I am looking forward to doing
solo is from SF to Chicago. I would just love to pop
home with the kids without it being a huge ordeal. I
am sure this sounds very naive. These little frequent
fliers of ours have flown 20 something times already
and I cant imagine doing it alone right now....at all.
It was soooo easy a year ago and now it is soooo hard
with the walking and climbing and needing two naps,
etc... Just curious if that changes. Thanks,Lisa

If you have a baby between ages 3 and 9 months, we'd
like to hear from you! We are a company focused on
making great foods for babies and kids, and we're
currently looking to better understand your experiences
and opinions on feeding your little one his or her very
first foods. For this study, we're planning paid 2 hour
meetings with parents and babies in their homes. The
visits will be fun and informal. They'll include a
discussion and, ideally, we'd like to observe you
feeding your child. We'd like to visit you and your baby
 between March 15 - March 21. We'll compensate you $200
for your time and participation. Please click on the

I went via car to LA for thanksgiving and I was 28
weeks pregnant. My doctor was not happy with me but I
felt I could do it. It turns out that sitting in a car
is a lot more stressful on the body. I had contractions
my entire pregnancy but the ones I had on my way down
were harder. We had to stop a lot. Our normal 6 hour
trip took 10 hrs. The drive back was easier but I
definitely didn't do that again. I did not deliver and
staying hydrated is top priority. You contract more
when you are dehydrated. Traveling via plane tends to
be dehydrating too. You have a tough decision but be
prepared to have your babies just in case. Even though
it would be terrible to miss your sister's wedding how
would you feel if you had your babies early? If you go
drink tons of water and get an aisle seat so you can
walk around a lot and pray!!! Good luck!! It's a tough
one!! Oh and I forgot to mention wear support hose
because flying made me swell and it helps prevent
 clots.

I traveled at 26 weeks from San Francisco to my Chicago
for my baby shower. It all went swimmingly well and
people were incredibly kind and helpful. At the time,
I didn't bat an eye. My doctor also didn't tell me not
to go. In hindsight, now that I know so many twin
parents that spent weeks in the nicu and have heard how
stressful that time can be, I think I may have stayed
put. Its a tough call. If you end up going and you
are feeling fine, I would just be prepared for
anything. Know where the best hospital and nicu are in
relation to where you're staying, etc. And like Jenni
said, take it as easy as possible. Congrats and good
 luck!

Wow, that's a really tough call. My docs were all
super-conservative that way, so I didn't even go as
high as Tahoe! (But had an awesome pregnancy and
delivery.) I'm a big believer in over-preparing, so
I'd suggest if you go, to make sure you find out ahead
of time where the local hospitals are JUST IN CASE you
need to get checked or anything, and know what level of
care they can provide, and who your insurance covers,
and that sort of thing. (Like taking an umbrella so
that it won't rain!) And definitely bring along lots
of things to keep you comfortable, hydrated, and able
to rest. Can you purchase a refundable ticket, maybe,
so that you can see how you're feeling closer to that
date? You'll probably feel quite different,
physically in another 2 months. And maybe break up
the travel time somehow?? At the very least - be sure
to get up and move around at least hourly while driving
(& frequently on the plane.) Maybe plan on doing ONLY
the wedding while there, and not all the other
inevitable activities, so you don't wear yourself
out?GOOD LUCK to you with whatever you decide, and
congrats to both you and your sister! What a lot of
nice things happening in your family all at once! : )

Had my twins at 26 weeks, 3 months in the NICU. Almost
lost 1 twin. Was feeling fine just happened no
explanation, just had check up that same day, went into
labor at midnight. I wouldn't recommend it. From:
