eeewww - 3/12/2012 12:42 pm
I'm starting to shop for new bedding for my twin girls
(arriving in summer). Our style is more modern. I'm
thinking i want the same pattern, but in different
colors for each crib.I have checked dwellstudio, serena
and lily, pbk, oilo, Land of Nod... any other
suggestions? i might just have something made on etsy,
but I want to see what's out there.

My kids have gone to Peter's Place and I'm super happy
with it! They are amazing and I'm so grateful they got
in. My girlfriends kids went there and they are
amazing kids and I really think we both owe Peter's
Place a big thank you for their caring and creative
environment. I would never choose another school. We
also attended JCC our first year (we got into 2 school
and they were opposite days so we went for it). We
really liked JCC but Peter's Place just had that
special something that makes it so wonderful.I hope
your twins get in! Tava :)

Not strictly responsive, but fyi, i used this stroller
(and loved it) for the first 18m of my kids' lives.
But, we preferred the carseat adaptors to the
bassinets. It is so easy to move the kids from the car
to the stroller in their carseats (sleeping) and you
can carry two infant seats at once by yourself in the
beginning. I made it to germany by myself (and two
babies) using this setup Later, the real seats
recline so far, they are like a bassinet. I didn't
miss the bassinets at all. Sent from my iPhone

Yeah, I guess its one of those things that you just
dont know until you do it. And every single time is
different. When I traveled with them at 5 months, I
was fortunate enough to have a TSA agent that broke
down the stroller for me. I carried both infants
through security and then sat them down (they were
sitting up on their own at that point) while I got the
stroller and car seats back together. I gate checked
one car seat and the snap and go. I carried one baby
on with my ergo and one baby in the car seat. If you
travel with a car seat you have to take the window
seat. The kids were great and it was a short flight.
After doing it, I felt confident that I could do it
from SF to Chicago. However, the next flight we all
took both kids had an epic meltdown and I was soo glad
to have my husband there and that squashed any
confidence I had about going it alone on a flight.

As it turned out, our nanny, who we employ 3 days/week,
said she felt 9 sick days + a week for vacation is
fair. She is also paid $22/hr, which i realize is more
than most people pay, even those with twins. We only
have the twins btw, no other kids. I really worked on
this issues, discussed it with my partner & other
parents I know, and I consulted the web for info. My
research seemed to indicate that for a full time nanny,
2 weeks for vacation + a "reasonable" number" of sick
days is the norm. So we finally settled on 12 paid
days off, all told -- that includes sick days &
vacation. This amounts to 4 full weeks of paid time
off, for our nanny. She is excellent with out children
& we like her a lot, but she has something of a poker
face, so I'm not 100% sure how she felt about this
offer, given she wanted 14 paid days off. But this
seemed fairly generous overall, in our opinions. And
we will of course pay her for the days we cancel, like
when we are out of town. I'd love feedback on our
decision, if anyone has any. Thanks for all the info &
advice provided!!

Oh, I meant to add that we also will pay for major
holidays, namely christmas, new years, thanksgiving,
etc. Both my job & my partner's do not include
benefits, so the other holidays, like President's Day &
what not, we still have to work
