We had a night nanny 3-4 nights a week. I honestly
think we couldn't have survived without the help. If
you're only going to have one kind of help, I'd suggest
having it at night. However, I know a lot of people on
this board have used mother's helpers during the day.
Cheaper than paying a nanny or doula, but still someone
to help out. My husband got laid off with a severance
package right after my babies were born while I was on
maternity leave (so we both got paid to stay home with
our babies!), so we had each other. But if I had been
home alone with them, that's what I would have done for
a few hours a few days a week. Just someone to be
around to help with laundry, washing bottles/pump
parts, burp babies, watch them so you can take a shower
or a nap... It's really hard to be alone all day with
baby twins, so if you can afford the help, get whatever
you can. Even if you do things with the babies on your
own, it's nice to have help with all the other stuff!

I agree with all of the above -- it seems harsh, but if
you keep repeating something along the lines of "you
throwing your food on the floor tells me you don't want
it" and take it away
