Hi Hillary! We LOVED PIP for our daughter! The staff
were very attentive and nice. The program is a great
precursor to Pre-K and the kids do well with the
structure. When my daugter was there it started with a
tactile activity at a table, open play, music, then
active play w/ PT while the parents met w/ a social
worker for support group. It's a small group of about
8-10 kids w/ 1:2 ratio almost. I also appreciated the
specific rules/ policy about leaving your kid home when
they're sick & then defines what "sick" means
(discharge any other color than clear or white, fever,
etc). You can msg me if you have more questions.

My older daughter was a tongue thruster and my older
twin boy was a tongue thruster. With my daughter we
used a Haberman bottle/nipple (made by Medela) in
conjunction with a specific way to hold her chin plus
oral therapy w/ a Nuk brush. I highly recommend
Marjorie Palmer, Speech Therapist & Feeding Specialist.
For my son we're seeing a speech therapist through
Kaiser& used a regular Dr. Brown bottle. His issues
were more apparent when we started first foods. He is
high functioning and only knew to ask fo an eval
because we saw similarities to our daughter showing he
has low tone in his mouth (dribbling when drinking from
a bottle, continued tongue thrusting after a few months
in to starting 1st foods, biting down on the spoon
during feeds, & it would be hard to put the spoon in
his mouth due to his tongue pushing & mouth closing to
early). It was very slight. Have you had an oral eval
w/ a Speech Pathologist/Therapist? This is a good place
to start if you haven't yet. There are several possible
scenarios that could be happening (even slightly) and
an eval is good to have. Hope this helps. You can msg
me if you have any questions about what we've done w/
our kids.

One other thing is she might just need a slow flow
nipple (turn the bottle over and you shouldn't see
leaking or very minimal leaking). She may be thrusting
from just that alone. I found Born Free bottles w/
stage 1 nipples to be very good. Also feed her with her
sitting up on your lap
