This week, Mayor Ed Lee and Supervisor David Chiu announced new changes to the city's
Open Data legislation that will go toward furthering the city's efforts toward more
accessible information and government efficiency.

As an example of the use of open data, Rec and Park is proud to launch its new FREE
mobile application for iPhone. Our new app allows users to search for parks and 
facilities, browse for events, and makes volunteering, reserving a picnic area and
donating to our department easier. You can also search and rediscover the 45 pieces
of public art located in Golden Gate Park.
