bhavna12 - 10/25/2012 12:26 pm

Hi all: I have a baby jogger - city select - twin
stroller and I can't seem to find a drink holder. The
one on the baby jogger site says it's not compatible
with city select models. Anyone have any insight?Thank
 you

you: how are you liking the city select twin? Would
 you recommend it?

3. part-time day nanny help in SF - Financial district
--------------------------------------------------------
bhavna12 - 10/25/2012 12:23 pm

We are looking for part-time nanny help in SF for our 7
week old twins. We are looking at 20-30/hours a week
starting mid November going through end of year and
possibly into next year as well. We are also open to
making the role full-time if it's the right fit
starting next year as I go back to the work on Jan 1.

What is the going hourly rate for a nanny taking care
of infant twins (approximately 5-6 months old)?

Ive been quoted $22/hr pretty consistently, range was
20-24. We have just been through this for our 6 month
 olds, so its current.

we've seen day nanny rates as high as $30 but amywink
is right on for the average. $20-$24 is about
right. What would a fixed fair monthly rate be for a
nanny working full-time? We are in the process of
finding full-time help starting 1/1/13 and wanted to
just do a monthly salary, any ideas? Just doing the
math, it would be roughly $3520/month for someone at
 $22/hr.

When we started looking for nannies, the low end of the
range was $15-18/hr, connecting direclty with people
thru Craig's List. Also, depending on what other
benefits you offer, that might adjust the amount up or
down (i.e., paid sick days, you provide lunch, you
purchase them a FastPass, etc.)Care.com or maybe
sittercity.com I think have calculators that can give
you a range for your area, that factor in age of kids
 and years of nanny experience.

One of my 3.5 month old twins is a super slow eater. I
have to hold her and walk around with her to get her to
eat. She won't let you sit. The other one is easy and
sits in a seat with her bottle propped up and just
eats. We use the dr. Browns bottles and my doc
suggested we try the next nipple with the slow one. I
worry it will just overwhelm her ad she will spit up
(she has reflux). But she just isn't interested in
eating after about an ounce and the initial hunger is
gone. She basically has to be force fed in order to eat
enough. They are on a 3 hour schedule (although I think
my easy one would easily move to a 4 hour schedule of
the little one would let her). They still nap between
each day bottle. I try not to let them fall asleep on
the bottle because I'd their nap falls right after the
feeding they wake up too early to make it to the next
 bottle. They eat at 6:30,9:30, 12:30, 3:30, and 6:30
give or take 15 minutes. Their first nap is about 8 am
since they wake up around 6:15. They tend to try to
wake up after 30 minutes or so but we tey to get tem
back to sleep for longer. They also get a dream feed at
11 pm and wake to eat around 3 am. We do not do a daily
bath. We do it twice a week. With my older daughter we
decided not to do a daily bath for bedtime because it
was just too hectic. And with three kids now it is
really just too much. Why does everyone mention
switching to the think baby bottles? What's the
 benefit?

It gets much much better. I remember our days being
pretty much one feeding to the next, our kids were not
good eaters, just like the post above I had to walk
with my daughter to get her to eat. Our kids are still
not great eaters, but they will eat whatever they want
to very quickly and then will not take any more no
matter what........So the feeding time decreases from
an hour to 10 minutes. Our nurse had taught us to rub
their feet or wiggle their fingers to keep them awake
during feedings and it helped as did stroking their
cheeks and tapping on the bottle. Good luck, it will
 get progressively easier.

re: Think Baby bottles, I switched because I had had
enough of all the dang parts! Think Baby is just a
nipple, collar, and bottle. There has been much
controversy over their nipples, so they released a new
design not long ago. I find it works great - kids
dribble from it a bit, but that beats the heck out of
the spraying that happens with the Born Free and Dr.
Brown's once they learn to really throw them around :).

Hyland's teething tablets was the only thing that
relieved symptoms for us. We used them between when
recall ended (2010-ish) through last year.-Darca

We never had any problems with them (used before/after
recall, tho, I guess.) And our girls really liked
taking those, too.We also got some relief from
homeopathic chamomile drops.Have to called Scarlet
Sage, on Valencia? They probably carry whatever
organic options are out there, I imagine... Also, the
frozen washcloth was great, or wrapping up an ice cube
in a terry washcloth and securing it w/ a clean,
chewable ribbon or strip of cloth. Then, maybe when
they were a little older - frozen piece of bagel worked
GREAT. Messy, but soothing! Someone recommended
frozen, cooked carrot pieces, but those never quite did
it for our girls. Good luck!

one thing that helps them disappear.

We got the results back and, sure enough, the girls are
identical! When we had the early ultrasounds they told
us there were 2 "hot spots" where eggs were released,
so now our speculation has turned to whether we almost
 had triplets. :)

Triplet families -- please feel free to utilize the
"Triplets" subgroup on here, if you wish you have some
privacy, as it were. Visit the "Subgroups" tab above
to get that going. We set that aside as a place just
for you, but are having some trouble getting people on
board. It should be a timesaver, tho, for the
 triplet-specific posts.Good luck to you, jonesba28,
with everything. This group is a WONDERFUL resource,
and I hope will be as helpful to you as it's been for
 our family.Take care! : )
