Good for you for BF five months! I went back to work
at six months and pumped 2x a day at the office - this
was totally doable. (my office is pretty supportive of
Moms) The hardest part was organizing and remembering
the right bottles, lids and pump parts each day. If you
can do it, I recommend getting a second pump instead of
toting one back and forth. I pumped at the office until
they were 13 months old, then just BF at home. My
supply temporarily went down when I first returned to
work. I bought fenugreek capsules at Whole Foods and
kept a stash both at work and at home- this did the
trick. Keep up the BF if you can. It is such a great
way to bond with your little ones - I found this to be
even more important when I went back to work. Good
 luck!

Topic: Need some perspective on our nanny situation

We are first time parents, and all of this is so new to us!

Regardless of whether you keep this nanny or not, I
received some great advice from folks on this forum
regarding nanny "on-boarding." Our twins are just shy
of 5 months old, and I've been back at work for a
month. So far, so good, though it's certainly still
early. Our nanny also speaks Spanish - her English is
pretty good but, even still, what I've learned is to
write everything down. She often takes it home and
reviews it with her son, and she really does follow
everything we've written down *exactly* (though she
also lets me know when something is not working). Even
after we've reviewed the information verbally, the
written version seems to make both of us more
confident. We wrote out job expectations for her
specifically (working hours, wages, etc.) and then also
wrote out "house rules" that will apply to anyone
taking care of the kids (though no one else yet has).
Those cover things like cell phone usage, whether it is
OK to drive the kids, what to do with the dog, laundry
instructions, bottle sanitizing and mixing, etc. We
asked our nanny to give us input on them as we're new
to this (she's much more experienced than we are!). I
do think it takes a few weeks to sort out, but I also
think you need to trust the person completely. Maybe
writing things down will at least clear up any
confusion and let you evaluate her performance without
worrying that you are not communicating something?
 Good luck!

HiI've been wantin to respond for awhile? But with 3/3
I be so little time, but nanny stuff is important. I
wish I had the to e to write more other than I think
you should definitely look for another nanny. There are
red flags that won't go away. You can do better.
