I am looking for a photographer to take pictures of our
twins and then aid the process in creating a unique
holiday card with those photos. We would like an
outdoor shoot of very natural activities, no posed
pictures and no inside/studio like setting. We have
done ones in the past at China Beach, Rodeo Beach, etc.
All recommendations would be appreciated!

2. 2 mo d twins getting too big for double nursing pillow--
what am I doing wrong?
--------------------------------------------------------
jeccat - 9/15/2012 7:22 am
Hi twin moms-- I have been tandem nursing my 9 week old
twins since they were born. They're both pretty slow
eaters (20-25 min) so I'd like to continue to feed them
simultaneously. The problem is they seem to be getting
too long for the double My Brest Friend! I use the
double football hold, with throw pillows under each arm
to bring the pillow up to the level of my breasts. I
then wedge a receiving blanket under each head to brng
them to the perfect height. Now, instead of fitting
neatly on the pillow, their feet dangle off the sides
and sometimes provide enough counter-balance that they
get pulled off the nipple (especially if they kick). I
have been trying to hold them in place with my elbows
but this is less than ideal because it makes it harder
to post to SFPOM on my iPad while nursing :-). Did
anyone make this work? Here are a few thoughts I've
had:1) Is my couch too shallow? If I put a pillow
behind my back, then their feet could go into the
pillow instead of off to the side, but my couch isn't
deep enough for that...2) At some point, it won't
matter if they dangle a bit, but now they can't control
their bodies enough to make it work...3) Some other
position? If I put one in cradle it seems he'll just
kick the other guy in the head...4) Try to change
position of my breasts somehow so they're more in the
front? Im pretty busty (38F since my milk came in, oy)
so my nipples end up closer to my armpits when I'm
nursing... Something I can do to bring them forward
using blankets or props?Did anyone make this work?
Thanks in advance!

I used the double pillow until 15+ months with two kids
-- it's definitely possible! When we were still on the
couch (moved to floor around 5 months), I had an
ottoman in front of me, and I had a pillow behind my
back. My couch is probably average deep, not super
deep. But the ottoman gives you some extra room in
front so if you scooch forward a bit you won't fall off
the couch. As my kids got bigger, I remember their legs
kind of wrapped behind me. I had a small back pillow,
and that left a gap between the pillow and the back of
the couch, and they learned to get their feet in that
space and and curl around me.There are some crazy
photos I remember seeing online of different positions
to tandem nurse twins. I was fine with football/double
pillow so I never had to try them. Maybe you should
look into another position that might work better for
your body? Although I can't imagine how you could have
hands free with a double cradle hold, and that's
essential -- I felt like nursing (and pumping) was my
only free time to read, do computers or watch tv! Good
luck!

I sit on our bed, with a pillow wedged behind me to
hold up the back part of the pillow and support my
back. I guess that gives some extra space for feet to
dangle. Also, if you can use the throw pillows on the
sides to get the sides slighhtly higher than the middle
where you are it might keep them from rolling off.

i used 2 cushions behind my back until about 3 months -
that gave extra room for them - using average depth
couch. then, my lactation consultant had me try a
position where the baby is sort of sitting upright on a
pillow next to me - but i struggle to do that tandem,
but they started to take only 5-10 mins to feed around
3 months so i quit feeding them tandem and feed one at
a time now (nearly 5 months) in cradle hold

hi - congrats!i agree with the earlier posts, but
wanted to add on your last question. we had our night
nanny for 3 months, and for the first 7 or 8 weeks had
2 nannies to cover 7 nights a week, and then tapered
off by week 13. Our babies unfortunately were sleeping
horribly though until last week when we did sleep
training at 4.5 months, so in hindsight i wish we had
'saved' a bit of money earlier on by having only 5
nights cover, to use a night nanny for 1 or 2 nights a
week until they were sleep trained as i had a really
hard time from when the night nanny finished at 13
weeks until sleep training (about 6 or 7 weeks)
