Mine are 6 months old too (although born 6 weeks early)
and I always put them down at the same time for their
naps. As for wake ups - if one gets up after only 30
minutes or so of going down I let him cry until he goes
back to sleep (this happens almost every afternoon).
It takes 10-20 minutes, but he always goes back to
sleep, unless I go in and get him, which I did twice
and realized it was a really bad idea.If they have
slept at least 1-2 hours and the other is still
sleeping I usually let them sleep for a while, but I
will wake them up to keep them on the same schedule. I
wouldn't let the other one sleep for more than 30
minutes or so longer than the other. And even if one
did sleep longer I would always put them down at the
same time for the next nap or bed time.

Oh, I forgot the most important question - mine are up
for between 1.5 to 2 hours between their naps.
