Parks Alliance Action Grants
Neighborhood groups who are active improving their parks and open spaces inspire
the kind of grassroots volunteerism and stewardship that have always been at the
heart of San Francisco Parks Alliance's mission. These groups' work is especially
relevant for our parks, as it often springs from a community call to action or an
un-addressed need, and is championed by those who use the spaces every day. SFPA's
more than 100 Park Partner groups, as well as the many other community groups working
in parks and open spaces in San Francisco, consistently catalyze amazing transformations
in our community spaces.
SFPA reiterates its dedication to this spirit of stewardship and volunteerism with
a new grant program - the Parks Alliance Action Grants. The grant program will initially
offer $25,000 a year for two years, and be open to community groups who meet the
eligibility criteria. Grants will be up to $2,000 each, and one $5,000 grant will
be awarded to a community group in recognition of a Volunteer of the Year who has
shown exemplary dedication to parks and open spaces. The Volunteer of the Year will
be selected from recommendations by SFPA staff, board, and partners.
