I used a cosleeper for the first three months, and just
moved them into the nursery about a week ago. Having
them within arms reach really was helpful in those
first few months. You still have to get out of bed to
change diapers but if someone just needs a pacifier
replaced or a quick reminder that they're not alone to
go back to sleep, the cosleeper makes it very easy. The
only issue I had with it is that it bounces around when
one twin moves. Sometime after two months when they
both became more active and more sensitive to the world
around them this became a problem as one would fuss in
her sleep, perhaps to move some gas around her
digestive system, then go back to full sleep on her
own. But in the meantime her sister would wake up from
the bouncing and start wriggling around. Even if she
managed to get herself back to sleep she would wake up
the first sister again before she stopped, and
inevitably I'd end up with at least one upset, awake,
and tired baby. What I did then was a little
unconventional, but really works for us. I put the
mattress from our twin pack n play (slightly larger
than a typical pack n play and comes with a twin
bassinet attachment) and put that on the floor. This
means it's still very easy for me to feed and soothe
them in their bed. I can even lie down between them if
I want to. And traveling is really simplified! We went
tent camping last week and they slept as well as I've
ever seen them sleep. When we got back from camping I
moved them into the nursery instead of putting them
back in the bedroom and it's been a great success. I
realize I may have to start using the crib at some
point if they start wandering around too much at night,
but I love not having to set them down in a crib after
I've got them settled for sleep, I just leave them
where they are! My nursery is totally baby proof so
they can't get into any trouble here. If cosleeper is
something you want to consider, I've got a used one I'd
happily sell you for $90 and an unopened brand new one
I'd sell for $150. (I got two at my baby shower.) I
haven't put up a classified listing yet cause I haven't
quite sorted out all the stuff I'm ready to part from,
but I've got a world of hand-me-down baby receptacles
(bassinets, bouncy chairs, swings, and cradles) that
I'm also looking to part from if you need that sort of
 thing. Julia

We didn't even have a crib for the first two or three
months. We used fisher price rock n play sleepers for
them and a pack-n-play. The sleepers were great bc
 they are so portable.

We used an arms reach co-sleeper, which they were in
until my daughter slept through the night. Then we
moved her into her crib in another room. My son stayed
in the co-sleeper until he slept through the night. I
want to say she moved out at 5 months, but it was so
long ago I'm not certain on that.
