Please join us for a lively discussion with bestselling
author, Po Bronson, this Wednesday, at Roosevelt Middle
School (460 Arguello), from 7-8pm.Mr. Bronson will be
sharing insights on his new book, Top Dog, The Science
of Winning and Losing. Here's a bit about the
book:Integrating wisdom from politics, finance,
genetics, neuroscience, psychology, military training,
sports, economics, education and more, TOP DOG offers
counterintuitive, game-changing insights into the
nature of competition, such as:- Why the home field
advantage in sports is just as relevant in diplomacy
and deal-making- That women are better at judging risk,
while men are better at ignoring it - and how this
plays out on K Street and Wall Street- Why younger
siblings are more competitive than first-borns, and how
early-childhood influences shape competitive styles
forever- That the shape of entrepreneurs' hands can be
just as revealing as their business plans- How a single
biochemical can predict a winner before an event has
even begun- Why discord can be better than harmony, and
why stars on a team do deserve special
treatment.Special Deal - $35, includes Admission plus

2. Seeking double Snap N' Go (to buy or borrow)

Hi Folks - We still have 6 - 8 weeks before bambinos
will arrive coming, but are on the hunt for a used Snap
'N Go. Looking into a new car and want to see if the
Snap N' Go will fit in the back of a Mazda 5. I know
the big consignment sale is coming soon, but we want to
get the car before the end of April. Anyone have one
they're looking to sell (or let me borrow one for a
couple hours to do a test drive)? Thanks in
advance,Julie Legrand415-215-1234

just as a precaution - double snap-n-go's aren't so
great for tooling around the city (I'm being nice, they
actually suck). They have no turning radius and are
pretty clunky. They are OK for going to the airport
and maybe a mall, but I thought mine was awful for
going around and walking in the city. I got rid of it
and got a City Select with two car seat adapters. Much
easier to maneuver than the double snap-n-go.

and just transitioned to our double City Mini. Love it!

I *love* our Bumbleride Indie Twin stroller (used
bassinets when kids were younger - for city living, I
found I hardly ever used our carseats and the kids were
much more comfortable in the bassinet attachments to
the stroller - and I was much happier not lugging
carseats and dealing w/ buckles). When we did use the
car, we had Graco Snugride 30s. Worked fine until they
outgrew them length-wise around 9-10 months - we now
have Diono Radian carseats which are fine (note no
glowing reviews of carseats on my end - I have yet to
find a great carseat solution).

They're not closing, just changing management. But
they're selling off of all of the inventory so having a
big sale.

We also let our twins potty train when they were ready.
We got one little potty for each child, and had them
pick them out, as we were told it would help to involve
them. But this was when they were very little, maybe
1.5-2 years old, and we just used the the little
potties to show them how to pee.We waited until our
twins expressed an interest. We have boy/girl twins,
and our daughter was interested first. We bought
underwear for both twins and tried it with them the
same day, but our son quickly had an accident and was
happy to go back to a diaper. Our daughter basically
started wearing underwear with a few accidents. We
stopped for a couple months and went back to a diaper
until she was interested again. And then after that it
pretty much just happened almost over night. We didn't
really have to "potty train".We did the same thing with
our son when he was ready, about 6 months later. She
was trained by slightly after 3 and he was more like
3.5.I'm glad we did it this way because it there was
not much effort involved on our part and the children
felt ready to do it on their own schedules. We also
never used pull-ups as a part of the process. We only
used them at night.
