Join us on May 4 as we celebrate recent trail improvements at Buena Vista Park,
completed by the San Francisco Conservation Corps and made possible by California
Prop. 84 Park Bond Funding. The day will begin with park improvement and volunteer
projects at 9 a.m., followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Hosted

Free Drop-In Fitness Programs Kick Off at Potrero Hill Rec Center
Free drop-in fitness programs at Potrero Hill Recreation Center, made possible by
a grant from the Department of Public Health, kicked off this past Saturday, April
20. More than 50 people, including kids, parents and seniors, came out and enjoyed

City Teams Up with the SF Giants to Sweep Out Litter
Last week, Rec and Park was at Balboa High School to help launch the SF Giant Sweep
campaign, a partnership with the Department of Public Works (DPW), the San Francisco
Giants and city agencies to reduce litter and trash in our public spaces. Our message
for the Giant Sweep campaign is simple. If you're in a park, whether it's Crocker-Amazon
or Golden Gate Park or Portsmouth Square, and you have garbage: Pack it in, pack
it out.

Volunteers Needed for the SF Botanical Garden's Annual Plant Sale May 3-4
Volunteers are needed for the San Francisco Botanical Garden's Annual Plant Sale
on May 3and May 4. Lots of helping hands wanted to make the biggest fundraiser
for the Botanical Garden a success. This is a fun, fast-paced event with a variety
of different volunteer jobs. Sign up for the Friday night sale, 5-8 p.m., or the
Saturday sale, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. All shifts have a wonderful volunteer buffet and

Mobile Rec, Free Swimming at Herz Playground This Saturday, April 27
Mobile Recreation is rolling into Hertz Playground/Coffman Swimming Pool this Saturday
April 27, from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.. The 30-ft. mobile rock wall will be set up for
a fun family challenge, and Freshpark ramps, rails, and manual pads will be erected
and ready for our skateboarding and BMX friends to attempt grinds, kick flips,
and dropping in. RPD staff will be on hand to help you perfect your style. Coffman
Pool's recreation swim is Saturday, 1:30-3:30 p.m., so bring your suit and make
