1. Stroller Theft
--------------------------------------------------------
MamaWobin - 8/2/2013 1:56 pm

I just wanted to post this as a heads up. Our double
Bob was stolen from inside a church where our nanny was
attending a playgroup with our 20-mo olds on Wednesday.
The thief left another double Bob that she had stolen
less than an hour beforehand from the academy of
sciences in its place. We were able to get that
stroller back to its family but ours is still missing.
The academy of sciences has security footage of the
woman taking the first stroller - sadly she had two
kids with her. And because of the location and timing
we believe she must have driven a car to the second
location. The whole thing is very strange and we're
really not sure what to make of it. We're following up
with the police (understandably not their highest
priority), the church and the academy but we don't have
high hopes of getting our stroller back. I just wanted
to let you all know since she is apparently a serial
stroller thief (?!). Plus, I am worried about those two
kids she is toting around town stealing strollers with.
Our theory is that she must be unstable. It doesn't
seem like the usual stroller theft of convenience. I
can't imagine if I was left stranded far from home with
two hungry kids and no stroller! Luckily our nanny had
her other nanny friends there to help her and they lent
her diapers, food, blankets and jackets for the kids
since all that was stolen along with the stroller...
Anyway, be aware I guess. And if your stroller goes
missing and a black double Bob is left in its place
please get in touch with me. It's not some
absent-minded momma making a mistake as we at first
 hoped!

2. Our top-notch nanny is ready for a new family in
Noe/Bernal/Mission

Our fabulous nanny, Rachida Orr, will be looking for a
new family starting in September. She has been with our
family for the past 3 years and cared for our boy/girl
twins since they were 9 months old. Our kids are
starting full-time school in the fall, and Rachida will
be available for a new family in September. We only
have the most positive things to say about her and have
been so lucky to have her be a part of our family these
last years. We are sad to be moving on, but know we
will continue our relationship as our families have
become such good friends.Rachida is a native French
speaker who is truly gifted with children and a joy to
have in the house. Her childcare career includes being
an au pair and pre-school teacher assistant in addition
to being a nanny, and her experience across age levels
really allows her to adapt and grow along with the
children. She is as gentle at soothing babies as she is
creative in designing art projects for pre-schoolers.
For us, this continuity of care was so
important.Rachida is very respectful and direct,
helping to keep clear and open lines of communication
which are critical. For us, it was really nice that she
is also a parent raising her family in the neighborhood
and could share our concerns and experiences. She is
incredibly reliable and also flexible with her hours.
She always keeps things tidy around the house. We are
frequently approached by parents who have watched her
at the playground and tell us how wonderful she
is—which, of course, we know well. She is proactive
at the playground and keeps an eye on everyone. And
always, Rachida read to them, sings, makes art
projects, takes them to museums and parks, and teaches
them. Our kids absolutely love her and we do
too!Rachida is looking to work Monday through Friday
for 32 to 35 hours per week. She prefers to work in the
 Noe Valley/Bernal/Mission area.Her contact
