1. Language Classes for babies
--------------------------------------------------------
lbwehrley - 8/6/2013 4:08 pm

Hi Moms,Has anyone sent their babies to language
classes? I'd like to take my 10 m/o twin boys to start
language lessons and so far, I can only find Spazio
Italiano in North Beach. The other classes on Yelp seem
to be for older children only. Thanks!Laura

3. !!Dad's Night Out UPDATE!!
--------------------------------------------------------
annekap - 8/6/2013 1:35 pm

!!Dad's Night Out UPDATE!!Due to a couple scheduling
issues we are moving DNO this month to Thursday the
22nd. We will be back on the regular schedule for the
 following months.THIS MONTHDad's Night Out // August
 22nd // 3050 23rd streetDads,What would you say if I
told you the one and only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would be
present at our next Dad's Night Out event happening on
August 22nd? Would you freak out to know that Kareem
may be grilling a sausage and drinking a beer while
hanging out with us at The Little Giant Lighting (Joe
Mendoza's place) located at 3050 23rd street. Might you
grab your favorite twin (lets be honest, we all have a
favorite) and toss him or her high into the air, higher
than you have ever tossed him/her before? You would?
Really? That's not safe. It's probably a good thing
then that Kareem won't be joining us. But that doesn't
mean we won't have a great time playing pool, eating
and drinking while we talk about the things that dads
talk about. Please RSVP to this post or email me at

We have a Bob for our 1 year old twins. We live near
Golden Gate park and it is great for jogging and
off-roading. It is very easy to stear and I am
surprised by how much I can fit into the storage
compartment. It does fit through many doorways, but
just barely eeks through and can be a bit cumbersome.
It is hard to get in
try and score a used one. It is a great stroller and to
be honest, all double strollers have drawbacks.

I agree with the above posters. They're a breeze to
steer and mount curbs easily but they take up a lot of
trunk space and are cumbersome to take in and out of
vehicles. If you're planning on jogging with your
twins, or going on long walks, hikes, or off-road,
 they're great. I don't think they're the best option
for crowded sidewalks and narrow store aisles and
doors. Though, I do see them on Market St and around
Union Square so it is totally doable. If you can find
one used, that's a great idea. I'm starting to wonder
how much longer our strollers will be utilized. I'm
finding that my twins are starting to resist being
strapped into any of their strollers but they're not
yet at the stage where we can go on walks. Fun times. I
actually got tired of disassembling and assembling our
City Select so now for quick trips in and out of
vehicles, I wear one in an Ergo and put the other in a
cheapo single umbrella stroller. I don't even bother to
collapse it, it's so compact and light. It also works
as a pseudo-walker. Anyway, I digress, if you want to
come by my place and try our Bob out, you're welcome
 to. Just email me.

I think some manufacturers have immobilizer hardware
kits that modify their drop side cribs into fixed.
Unfortunately not all provide them for free, which they
should. Pali sells theirs for like $65 (over priced for
what it is, which from what I read online are some
 screws and a couple L-brackets).

Thanks noursej! Are the Diono pretty slim? We don't
have much room so need to get something slim and
 compact that doesn't compromise safety.Bhavna

Hi Bhavna! My twins seem to like their Primo Viaggio
convertible seats. They seem fairly compact, no cup
holders or anything like that. They're pretty heavy
though so not the best option if you need to take them
in and out of cars frequently. Ours pretty much just
 live in our car.

I wouldn't have been able to survive with out my night
nannies. Since my husband is self employed, I was
taking care of the boys by myself all day almost
immediately. Sleep deprivation really takes its toll,
especially for us moms of multiples since feedings can
take twice as long :) I used Cassia Appel as well and
also Marcia Silva-Martin. Both are wonderful. They are
so warm and loving. They often work together as a team
and did so for me to make sure I was covered for the
entire 3 months. They really became a part of our
family and brought such a calming influence to the
house, which is huge for a first time mom. Since
Cassia's info was already posted, here is Marcia's -
