Dear Camp Mather Friends and Families,

We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has expressed concern for our beloved
Camp Mather over the past several days.  The Rim Fire near Yosemite National Park
still rages on, and dedicated fire personnel from a number of regions are doing 
all they can to combat the blaze.

We are happy to report that all visitors and staff have been safely evacuated from
camp and are back at home. Unfortunately, this year's Fall Strawberry Music Festival,
scheduled for August 29-September 2, has been canceled.

Today, the Incident Command team that is in charge of fighting this wildfire set
 up base camp on Camp Mather grounds. We are confident that they will do all they
can to protect the campgrounds from destruction.

Our sincere thanks is extended to all of the dedicated public servants working on
behalf of numerous federal, state and local agencies who are fighting the fire, 
ensuring public safety and coordinating the emergency response to this natural disaster.
