Hi all!I was wondering if anyone has had a party or
been to the Giammona Pool in Daly City? Is the water
cold? I read it was cold. Is the slide on the shallow
end for kids?Any info would be great! I'll call them
tomorrow but wanted to see if there are any experiences
 out there too.Thanks!Susan

Thank you, Mommies! Also, Jen, I so agree and so enjoy
bathing each separately and cherish this time, as both
LOVE bath time! Am thinking will want to bath both
together a couple times a week...though with your
feedback, isn't sounding like it will be a relaxing
 experience.

Our twins are 14 months and we've been bathing them
together since they were 11 months or so. We tried bath
chairs but they didn't stick well in our tub and were
difficult to pull the babies out of--more a hazard than
a help. Ours do fine just sitting in a tub that's not
too deep (4-5 inches of water). They seem to enjoy
playing with each other. I think as long as they have
been sitting up for a while and have good control in
 that department you'll be fine.

My question is, what do you do with the other when you
are bathing one? I found dealing with them both in the
tub at the same time is less stressful than one
screaming in the pack n play the whole time I'm bathing
the other. We switched to the big tub at about 12
months. Between that and the sink we used one of those
inflatable duckie travel tubs inside the big bath tub.
I liked it because it was like a padded bathtub so if
they fell it was ok but they got too tall for it. Now
they do climb all over eachother and slip and try to
climb out. Bath time is crazy but they have a blast so
I just try to go with it, get in that frame of mind. It
is definitely not a relaxing wind down part of bedtime
routine though! We try to do it with two adults but it
is possible to do it alone. When alone, I am extra sure
to keep the water level pretty low so that when they do
slip they don't submerge fully and can easily pish
themselves up if I have my hands full. I use the pack n
play to contain them as I am pulling them out of tub.
Everything gets soaked. It's a workout but they love
it. Someday I really have to get someone to come over
 and take pictures!

Ditto MamaWobin on the sink --> inflatable tub in
the big tub --> just in the big tub (except we are
on to just the big tub at 10 months since the
inflatable sprung a leak). I use a giant nonslip
suction mat on the bottom of the tub (it's an old
clawfoot tub so the bath chairs, etc. likely would not
stick well). We just put it underneath the tub when
not in use for the kiddos. Seems to work well -
there's definitely chaos, but relatively manageable
 even with one person.

Along the lines of the other commenters, I found it
more stressful trying to put one somewhere safe while I
bath the other one. So not long after they could both
sit up confidently, I started bathing them together in
the tub. It's usually pretty fun, and sort of chaotic,
but if they're too wiggly or keep trying to stand up or
whatever, I just end it quickly. For a while we had
these inflatable bumpers that suction to the side of
the tub, but I stopped using those a while ago. The
kids are 19 months now. I was planning to get the
chairs at first, but the kids generally just don't like
to be confined, and I figured our use of them would be
short term, and they're kind of pricey for something
we'd only be using for a short time. I bought the
bumpers used from another SFPOM mom, and the suction
cups are only 50/50, but you're welcome to have them
for free if you're interested. Bath time isn't bad -
it's sort of a fun daytime activity.

I have bathed my twins together in the bath since they
could sit up. They were anout 6 mos then, and they are
17 mos now. They love splashing and having a great
time. Sometimes their big sister is in too for extra
chaos. I don't think you need any special gear. Just
take them out if they try to stand up and don't sit
when you say "sit down please". They learn quick to
stay seated. Many pics available if you think seeing is
believing! Invest in bath toys, old yogurt cups are
just as good though! And I have a strict policy of
dumping water on heads every bath many times. It keeps
them used to the feeling of water on their eyes. I keep
several pitchers of water around for that. Plus they
love watching and playing in the waterfalls when they
aren't having it dumped on their head. MollySent from

Hello, Bridget, and welcome to the Club! I hope it'll
be as useful for you as it has for me!! Hopefully
you'll get some excellent support from posting your
message - and let me know if you think there'd be any
value in having us (POM) set up a private subgroup on
this listserv for single parents... that would be no
prob, and then members of that subgroup would be able
to quickly and easily post messages just to that
subgroup. Let me know, congrats on your forthcoming
twins, and good luck to you!Natasha(President, SFPOM)
