1. Birthday Party Ideas for 3 year old - large party (I have
checked archives)

My daughter is turning three. With preschool class (not
sure if we are inviting everyone or not), cousins,
family friends, etc., I fear it will be a large party.
A park with a jumpy house would be the best solution,
but I fear the weather in early March. We did
Acrosports last year so I don't want to do the same
thing. What other places can accommodate a larger party
(maybe over 20 kids?). Most places seem to limit the
 kids to 15-20.

We've had and been to parties at CurioOdyssey (aka
Coyote Point Museum, large party room upstairs great
playground outside where you can also reserve
table),Pump it Up, YMCA Presidio pool (2.5 feet of
water), and playgrounds but weather permitting.

Daly City Playhouse just outside of the city, off 280.
 Here's the web site,
 http://www.mypartyplayhouse.com/DCPP/Home.htmlIt's a
huge inflatable castle that has a lot to do and adults
can climb through this thing as well (I recommend knee
pads for the adults). Just your party is in the play
area for 1 1/2 hours, then you move to a dedicated
party room. The staff there help feed the kids so you
and the other parents can relax a bit. Your initial
cost is for up to 20 kids. If you have more, then you
pay for the extra (adults are free). They have some
arcade style games in the same room so if your child
needs a little break from climbing, it's a nice
alternative. You receive a certain number of tokens
with your party and you can buy more, depending on your
need. The only catch is that you have to buy food
through the restaurants who cater for them (Round Table
for pizza and Moonstar for Chinese). All this info is
outline on their web site.Good luck!

My Gym can accomodate more than 20, although they
charge you $10 extra per kid if you go over 20. They
 do GREAT parties.

wow, this is all so interesting! I thought my 4 hour
schedule pre-solids was pretty by-the-book. But the
variations are interesting to see (especially the early
morning bottle and back to bed). Overall it sounds like
we all do something similar. I just wasn't quite so
scheduled with my first child because she was a
single.Right now we chose the two middle of the day
feedings for solids largely because that is easier for
us with a 3 year old also in the house. I'm sure we'll
add breakfast at some point too. Their bedtime is still
pretty hectic and still somewhat of a witching hour, so
I can't imagine solids for dinner until they drop that
third nap.For my first child I think I did bottle
before solids too. My ped this time said i could do it
either way. We tried solids before bottle this time
with the hopes that it would encourage my bad eater to
eat. She doesn't drink much from the bottle and it is
very difficult to feed her. So we thought she might
like solids better. And I think it is working for her.
She is eating a fair amount of solids and still taking
the same amount or more of her milk. I had assumed the
good eater would just go with the flow and eat solids
or milk, whatever was in front of her. But apparently
not. So I think I'll try limiting the bigger twin's
solid intake so she will still drink her bottle. If
that doesn't work I'll doing bottles first (but I'm
worried that will make the little one not eat as well).
My big one eats about 32-34 oz of milk a day and the
little one eats only about 26-28 oz of milk a day. I'm
hoping that once i can do yogurt the little one will
fatten up a bit. Thanks for all the comments!

We had a lot of day time accidents with our 3y/o son
and the preschool recommended taking him out of pull
ups at night. So we took both twins out of pull ups
cold turkey. Our girl was an instant pro and got up to
use a potty when she needed any time of the night. She
returned to bed and slept after that. Can you still use
potties for yours? Would be easier for them to go right
in their room. Our boy was much harder to train. It
took 2-3 months, and lots of loads of laundry. He is
now mostly dry both day and night. We wake him up at
11:30pm to sit on a potty next to his bed. Sometimes
there is nothing, but mostly he has some pee and lasts
till 6:30am after that. In the beginning we tried other
schedules - 10:30pm and 3am worked well to keep him
dry, but was making us very sleep deprived. Also when
he is sick we put pull-ups back because he pees more
frequently.Good luck! Your kids are older, so should be
able to hold it longer (have bigger bladders). However
some kids have a problem past 6 y/o, in that case there
is a device with a sensor and a sound alert that a
friend of mine used successfully for her daughter.

I felt the same but I did adapt to it. Mostly the
realization that they are in the best place for them
right now and couldn't possibly care for them at home
at this stage. It's fantastic that they get such
amazing care here. I used the time to sleep, eat, get
my strength back so we were in the best shape possible
when these two little bundles did come home with us and
needed ALOT of attention. We got into a good routine of
visits where we'd help with their cares, cuddle them
etc and we used to look forward to this part of the day
so much and it was amazing to see their progress day by
 day.
