Community Budget Meetings for FY 2013-14 on January 28 and 30

Join us for two budget meetings to discuss preliminary plans for Fiscal Year 2013-14,
Monday, January 28, at Sunset Recreation Center, and Wednesday, January 30, at Minnie
& Lovie Ward Recreation Center, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Learn about our department's
budget instructions for the upcoming year and let us know what your priorities are
in your neighborhood parks.

Survey: Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights

The San Francisco Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights is a project of the San Francisco
Children & Nature Forum, an interdisciplinary community of educators, program providers,
civic leaders, recreation and park staff, health care and urban planning professionals
committed to ensuring that all San Franciscan childhoods flourish with access to
 quality outdoor experiences.  The Forum needs your help at this stage of the Bill
of Rights voting process in order to promote public awareness of this initiative
 and gather input from San Franciscans of all ages,  Please take a couple of minutes

Youth Stewardship Program Teaches Students the Wonders of their City Parks

Rec and Park's Youth Stewardship Program (YSP), is a free environmental service 
learning program for youth educators. If you'd like to find out how you can complement
your indoor classroom with an outdoor classroom field trip in our parks that incorporates
service learning and restoration curriculum, please contact ysp at sfgov.org [mailto:ysp at sfgov.org]
for more information.  Applications for Winter/Spring 2013 are still being accepted.
We accept applications from formal educators, non-formal educators and independent
youth program leaders for SFUSD schools, grades 2 through 12.

Also, join the Port of SF, Literacy for Environmental Justice and SFRPD for educational
and restoration activities at Heron's Head Park at India Basin Shoreline, every 
second Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m.-12 noon.  For more information, please

Rec and Park's All-City Youth Basketball League offers children throughout San Francisco
the opportunity to engage in a structured, safe, and fun basketball setting. Our
 league is geared for kids of all skill levels, from Kindergarten through 8th grade,

Tu B'shvat Celebration at Buena Vista Park on January 27

Rec and Park, Chabad of Cole Valley and the Buena Vista Neighborhood Association
 will be celebrating the new year of trees and ecological awareness with a Tu B'shvat
community event at Buena Vista Park on Sunday, January 27, from 10 a.m.-noon, and
