Celebrate Play Day with Rec and Park on July 31

Kids, join us for a free Summer Play Day at Kezar Stadium on Wednesday, July 31,
 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Enjoy games, sports, rides, giant inflatables and healthy

A New Playground Opens on the City's Waterfront

Senator Mark Leno and Board of Supervisors President David Chiu joined Zynga, the
San Francisco Parks Alliance, Friends of the Waterfront Playground and SF Rec and
Park for a free community play day and celebration marking the opening of the city's
newest playground at Sue Bierman Park on Saturday, July 20.  Children enjoyed free
games, arts and crafts, and carnival rides, while more than 60 volunteers from Zynga
shared their amazing artistic talents in face painting, balloon-sculpting and pirate-hat
making with visitors from all over the world.  The new $870,000 playground project
was a partnership between the city, the community and local businesses, led by Zynga.
 Sue Bierman Park is located across from the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero at

Volunteer Program Wrap-Up

Bizo at Golden Gate Park

On Wednesday, July 17, more than Bizo employees spent a sunny afternoon volunteering
in Golden Gate Park.  While one group pruned rose stems in the Rose Garden, another
spruced up the Pioneer Meadow, spreading mulch along pathways, trimming shrubs and
digging up weeds.  A big thank you to Bizo for their support of Golden Gate Park.

Cabrillo Playground Reopens on August 3

Join District 1 Supervisor Eric Mar, San Francisco Recreation and Parks, Friends
 of Cabrillo Playground, the San Francisco Parks Alliance, city officials and Richmond
District neighbors in celebrating the official reopening of Cabrillo Playground 
on August 3, at 12 noon. This new $4.5 million playground was made possible by San
Francisco voters who approved the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond.
