1. Babies agitated at breast. Please help!

Wise parents of multiples, I need some
help!Breastfeeding my first, a singleton, was an
enjoyable experience. Not so with my twins, now 7 wks,
born at 36.5 wks (no time in NICU). I breastfeed and
supplement with formula. During certain times of the
day, they get agitated while I breastfeed, pull away,
and cry. They pull away usually as soon as I let down,
but they've pulled away at other times too. It's worse
when I attempt to tandem feed. So I've been feeding
them individually, but the agitation has not gone away.
It's worse in the evening during the witching hour(s),
so I've all but given up breastfeeding b/w 6 and 11
p.m., choosing to give them a bottle and pump instead.
Some say my let down is too fast. Others say my let
down is too slow, as they've become accustomed to the
bottle. Is there any way to tell which it is? What can
be done about it? Some have suggested that I not wait
until they're super hungry to breastfeed, or to give
them a bottle first and then breastfeed, or to offer a
breast that has already been nursed. I've tried these,
but they haven't worked thus far. They feed well during
the night, when they're relaxed. They often feed well
in the morning, too. But as the day progresses, they
become increasingly more agitated at the breast.Has
anyone else encountered this? Is there anything I can
do? Or, is this something they will grow out of?Please
tell me it will get better. I tend to think that as
they mature, it will get better and that this is just a
tough time that "too shall pass," as the saying goes.
Any commiseration or advice or experience welcome.
 Thank you!

we used our bumbleride indie twin too, though i didn't
get the bassinets for it. i waited until 3-4 months
then just used it as is, in the flat position. until
then, i used the double snap 'n go with our chicco
keyfit 30 carseats. a great tip i received is to put
clear bottle of water in the drink holder on your
stroller in the early months. watching how much the
water is rattling around gives you a better indication
of how rough the road is for your babies than what we,
as adults, can feel. hope that's helpful. best, jen

Hi Annette, I live in Soma (by the baseball park). My
twins are only 6 weeks old, but if you'd like to meet
for a walk by the Ferry Building or something, just let
 me know.
