I would go for 4 economy class tickets, bring 2 light
weight car seats (like Cosco), strap each 1YO into a
car seat, and sit back and relax. (We found it was
worth bringing our "travel" car seats because the twins
were used to them and more easily fell asleep.) If you
try to hold them the whole time, you can't move, and
can barely read or eat. You can't put your tray table
down to hold a drink. It's not fun. Having a first
class seat doesn't change that. If its a 2-3-2 seat
configuration, I'd get a pair of 2 seats, one behind
the other. If you can't, of that's not an option, get
four seats in a row and you and your husband sit across
the aisle from each other. 4 economy seats will
probably still be less than 2 first class. You get to
board early because you have a young family too. Hope
this helps -- and have a great vacation.

I have breast fed both babies at the same time and mine
are a week younger than yours. I find that works ok
occasionally. However, I tend not to feed them at the
same time because I have a difficult time burping them
afterwards, then giving them bottles, then burping them
again, at the same time. However, when you're on your
own, doing all this for each one sequentially will eat
up your whole day.I completely sympathize because for
the hours when I'm on my own, I find that I can really
mess up their schedules. If you are able to get some
help, even a mother's helper as is suggested above, it
will really improve your stress level and help your
 sanity.

Here, here! Same situation. Almost. Preemies at 35
weeks, 4 weeks old, breastfeeding combined with
formula, my husband's coming back to work this coming
Monday. I usually bottle feed both of them or
breastfeed one and bottle feed the other that I put
next to me on bed and prop the bottle. Tandem
breastfeeding is not an option for me, I'm glad I
manage to breastfeed at least one. Right now to bf both
of them seems like dream. My lactation consultant told
me that if I'm in hurry I can breastfeed each for
shorter time, like 15-20 minutes per baby and finish
them with formula. That way they got the benefits of
mother's milk and won't be hungry. Otherwise each of
them is able to spend hour or more at breast.I have no
idea how I will manage them by myself yet. But I hope
CEmama is right and the anticipation is worst than
 reality.

Hi. It is hard work transitioning from having help to
being on your own. Each set of circumstances is
completely unique but below is what happened in my
case. Hopefully some of it might be useful. My babies
are now 6.5 months and were 5 weeks early (in Special
Care 3 weeks) and breast + formula fed from the
beginning.I tandem breast fed them and bottle fed them
from the beginning. It took forever. Breast, formula in
bottle, then pump and was just about ready to start all
over again. At 6 weeks, my Mothercraft nurse (an Aussie
thing) suggested that I just give them 15 mins on
breast (instead of 40), then bottle to reduce time. At
8 weeks she suggested that I drop the breastfeeding and
just bottle feed. In my case this was OK as they were
getting mostly formula anyway (I had very little milk
to give them). What this allowed me to do though was
really control their routines because I knew exactly
how much they were drinking (when BF - you don't really
know). It was a lightbulb moment and life was much
easier after that. I know that breast is best but a
sane mother is also good for the babies too. From then
on I could have a fairly strict routine. I always fed
and slept mine at the same time irrespective of what
each wanted. This can be tough but they have coped with
it really well and I can really control my day.In terms
of tandem bottle feeding - I have 2 methods I used when
they were younger. If you are interested I have photos
of each that I shared with some other twin mums a while
ago - message me if you want me to email them to you.1.
Put a pillow at the end of a couch so that it is
slightly inclined. Roll a cloth diaper (or towel) up
and put between couch back and first twins head and
shoulders, roll another towel and put on other side of
twin. Put second twin up against the 2nd rolled towel
and then roll another for the other side of twin 2.
Essentially they are lined up side by side on an
incline with the towels keeping their head and bodies
in position. This way you can sit on the couch at their
feet and hold the 2 bottles to them. They were also in
a safe position for me to pick one up at a time to burp
etc...2. Positions 2 bouncers in a V shape so that the
twins heads were side by side and the base of the
bouncers were wide. Sit in between on floor with back
against a couch. Have them close enough so that when
you hold bottles to their mouths that the backs of your
arms rest against the front of couch. This way they
don't get too tired. Once again I pick one up at a time
and burp etc..In both, I have all change diapers stuff
ready close by.I too got a mothers helper from 8 weeks
when my hubby went back to work. I had her work 2.30 -
7.30pm each day (I could have got away with 3.30-7.30).
In that time she would wash and prepare all my bottles
for next 24 hours and help me do feed at 4pm after
their sleep and then again at 6.30pm and bath them. She
also took them out for a 60min walk between 5
