Spring Eggstravaganza Family Event on March 30

Join us on March 30 for our annual Spring Eggstravaganza, featuring carnival rides,
games, egg hunts, live entertainment, and a BBQ competition between Rec and Park,

Monday, March 11. We will be selling tickets over the phone (and mailing them out
through 3/25).  Tickets can also be purchased in person at the McLaren Lodge Annex,
501 Stanyan Street in Golden Gate Park. Call 831-6800 to purchase your tickets over
the phone or for more information.

Annual Summer Resource Fair on Saturday, March 9

DCYF, SFUSD, the Rec & Park Department and GoKid will host the  annual Summer Resource
Fair at Everett Middle School on Saturday, March 9  from 10am to 2pm! The Fair is
a great opportunity to find out about the  multitude of summer camps, programs, 
and other summer options available  to the youth of San Francisco. Over 150 exhibitors
from around the City  will attend the Fair, representing programs for youth from
 Kindergarten  through high school. There will also be presentations on how to combat
 summer learning loss, an information session on the Kindergarten to  College program,

An Opportunity to Volunteer with Congresswoman Jackie Speier's SPEIER CORPS

Congresswoman Jackie Speier's SPEIER CORPS volunteers have been out and about over
the last several months making a real difference in our Bay Area communities. Maybe
you've seen them pitching in and weeding at a local park, maybe you have participated
and rolled up your sleeves yourself! Here's your chance to keep the momentum going
by registering for an upcoming Speier Corps event in March.
If you have already participated in previous Speier Corps activities, you know how
much fun it is to work together, including sorting and packaging holiday gifts for
underprivileged children, planting, painting and cleaning up parks, and volunteeringfor
CORA and Second Harvest Food Bank. Here's an opportunity to work with San Francisco
Recreation and Parks:

SPEIER CORPS DAY at Lake Merced, San Francisco on Saturday, March 16, 9 a.m.-12 
p.m. Learn more about Lake Merced and support the community that relies on this 
incredible park resource in the heart of the Park Merced neighborhood. Volunteers
will engage in habitat and park restoration, with an opportunity to plant new sites
after removing debris. We can accommodate up to 60 volunteers on Saturday morning.

Register Now: Inaugural CycleSF Bike Ride on April 28

a fun bike-ride event on April 28 that raises funds for San Francisco Recreation
 and Parks.  The event is not a race, but rather a fun-ride-- 24 miles of city streets
available for riders to enjoy with thousands of other cyclists. The event starts
 on Terry Francois Blvd at Mission Rock St. in San Francisco and finishes on JFK
 Blvd. in Golden Gate Park, just east of Transverse Drive. Riders can choose between
a 13-mile route and a 24-mile route. If you are interested in volunteering for CycleSF,

Mobile Rec Comes to Upper Noe This Saturday, March 9

This Saturday, March 9, Upper Noe Recreation Center (299 Day St) will host Mobile
Recreation! Bring the entire family and boost your confidence while you build your
skills and strength on our mobile rock-climbing wall. BMX bikes and skateboards 
will be provided so you can improve your balance and technique on our Freshpark 
ramps, rails and manual pads. RPD staff is excited to teach you how to shovit, ollie,
and drop-in. Helmets are required and will be provided by RPD, but bring your own

Community Clean Team Event on March 9

Community  Clean Team continues to serve the City of San Francisco after more than
 a decade of volunteering! Clean Team is a citywide volunteer program  that partners
city agencies with residents, merchants and students to  clean and beautify San 
Francisco neighborhoods. Volunteers sweep up  litter, plant and tend to neighborhood
trees, paint out graffiti and  help take care of our schools, parks, and community
