Hi!I am just going through this. I have 22 month old
twin boys, and we had our third boy a month ago. I was
really nervous how things would go, but so far, so
good.Feel free to text me at 408-394-7136 to chat, or
email at luciab at gmail.com.I have help at home, which
has been worth gold. My parents were here during the
last part of my pregnancy, which was mostly fantastic
(also a little stressful, though), and my Mom will be
here for another 2 weeks (total of 1.5 months post
birth). Mostly fantastic!I also hired a mother's helper
for 5 days per week, 9-7pm, because we can afford it.
It simply makes life much easier. And at $12 per hour,
it's sort of affordable (he/she helps clean up, restock
what needs re-stocking, babysit during naps if I have
to run somewhere, prep veggies for cooking, walk the
dog - I really love it). Although it's possible to do
by yourself (hey, we managed twins ok, didn't we), I
just figured I'm going to throw money at the problem
(following the suggestion of a wise friend ;-)) to make
things easier.Regarding a car: I really love my Toyota
Sienna. Two convertible seats in the second row and the
infant seat in the middle. Beautiful. Took me a while
to convince my husband, but I'm really glad he caved.
it's nice to have the extra space, to take the dog, the
extra helper, and some toys. The twins are adjusting
really well to the new addition. They are really
surprisingly gentle and nice to "babbee". Maybe it's
because all the adults around, so they get plenty of
attention, or because they never really had me to
themselves either (because they are twins). But I think
twins do have an easier time adjusting to the
"intruder" than singletons. It's funny, I always thought
that caring for a singleton is sooooo easy, compared to
twins. But it's actually really hard, in its own way. I
find myself giving him a lot of attention, because I
can, while with the twins, you always had to split your
time. But it is easier. Also, I am able to breastfeed
exclusively now (I was never able to get that going
with the twins...probably because of the c-section and
that my body wasn't really ready to give them up when
they were born) - our youngest was a successful VBAC,
he went a week late, and my body I guess did its thing.
I do have to nurse 16-18 per day (HA! 10-12 just WON'T
cut for this guy), so I realize that I had no chance
with the twins. I'll stop going on about nursing, but
if you want to chat more, I'd be happy to ;-).I just
made the decision to put the boys into day care 3 days
per week once my mom leaves, so I could have some time
with just the youngest. But your kids are probably in
pre-school already...I find that I've bounced back from
the birth a bit faster, too. So I hope you will recover
well, too. I started getting out at 1.5 weeks (again, I
had helpers, so I would just "tag along" to the
playground or Recess, so I could see the kids play, but
didn't have a whole lot of responsibility).Feel free to
text or email if you want to chat more!L

That's a tough one... have you talked to her about
it? She might have some suggestions/thoughts that you
might not have thought of yet. Perhaps she might be
able to find another nearby gig to supplement the one
with you? Or, might she be willing to "bank" some of
that time for maybe weekend babysitting or something?
If you can, please share what you come up with -- I'm
sure others would love ideas. Good nannies are
priceless!!

Total Baby is a good app. Tracks everything when it

We have 6 mo old twins, so we're not there yet...but a
friend started this company called "KidAdmit" - check
it out. She said it's supposed to help you through the
process of finding a school in the city. They are in
beta here right now, but worth checking out.I'd love to
hear from others as well about the process and schools
in the city!
