I would let him go on even if it's for 1+ hour. I
agree that 3/4 nights is usually the magic number -
 he's smart - he'll eventually get it :)

Quick update to my original post. He woke up last night
at 430am but went back to sleep around 5ish or so and
back up at his usual wake up time at 630 along with his
sister. We didn't go into the room, we actually closed
our bedroom door (so that we wouldn't be as distracted
with his noise) and put the baby monitor on the floor
not at the same level as the bed so we are not
constantly looking at the monitor. That was the first
time we removed the baby monitor from our view.
Overall, I agree with everyone with the approach of
letting him get through this phase on his own unless
something abnormal happens. He doesn't get cold, he's
always hot and sweaty so don't think that's it. Our
girl gets cold so we put layers and a thicker sleep
sack. We do play music for them during the night to let
them know it's time to sleep in the beginning and
sometimes throughout the night if they do need some
other noise besides the usual city noise (cars, trash
trucks, etc.). We use Spotify and downloaded some good
baby playlists and stream it on our mini Jambox. Seems
to work well. Thanks all for your posts and any other
ideas keep them coming. This is so helpful.

Has anyone experienced a dead tooth in their daughter (or

Hi Karen,I remember the panic I felt the night one of
my boys fell while playing and broke his tooth nearly
in half. Surprisingly, what is left survived and never
turned grey. I thought I remembered my dentist saying
that if it had died, she would have pulled it, but
maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, if you want a second
opinion, her name is Dr. Lin-song, and she has a
partner, Dr. Bergen James. They are right across the
street from CPMC on California St. It's a great
 pediatric dentist office.Best of Luck.
