Hi Patricia,You mentioned your children are still
sleeping in school. Do they have hard time falling as
sleep in school? My girls are 3.5 as well. I dropped
the nap 2 months ago due to the same reason. We tried
taking a short nap instead of 2 1/2 hours, they still
had hard time going down at 8 pm. We did not try to
push the later nap since they have to get up early for
school the next day. After we dropped the nap, we put
them to bed at 7/7:30pm. They are out like a light, no
struggles as all. It was a piece of cake. They wake
up 6:30/7:00 am next day. At the beginning, they
became very cranky at about 1:00/2:00 pm, often fell at
sleep in the car. It was usually a very short nap
(power nap). Now, they pretty much used to the new
schedule. Every now and then, if they get cranky in
the afternoon or before dinner time (Wolf hours), we
will put them down at 7 pm sharp. Warmly,Angela

2.5 hours nap! Wow, you are lucky. My pair sleeps ~ 1h
max at nap time at preschool. And many days they don't
nap at all and still go to bed around 8pm and get up at
6:30am. One needs more sleep than the other, but it's
hard to have them on different schedules. They are 3.7
months now, but are like this since around 3. We don't
enforce naps on weekends, so they only nap in the car
during long trips. We put the twin that needs more
sleep in his bed at nap time, but if he comes out of
the room, we skip the nap. Good luck figuring out the
 new schedule!

So sorry to hear this, and I feel your pain. I assume
they are rear facing. I hate to be the bearer of bad
news, but forward facing will probably make a huge
difference. you just have to decide whether you are
willing to trade off less puking for less safety. My
son is a major car puker (daughter has an iron
stomach!), and as an infant, every time we drove for
more than 45 minutes, he'd vomit. Sometimes we'd have
3-4 different puking sessions on a 3 hour drive to
Tahoe. it was TERRIBLE. Our best trick was to drive at
night, so he was asleep and wouldn't puke. FInally, at
about age 2.2, we couldnt take it any more and turned
his car seat around. It made a HUGE difference. He
would still puke occasionally, but much less often than
before. He is almost 3 now, and pukes only about once
per every four long car rides. We communicate with him
throughout the trip ("are you feeling ok?") and if he
says he's not feeling well, we pull over immediately
and take a 20 minute break. it takes forever to get
anywhere, but it's better than a pukefest. My son does
just fine on planes, even though he has no stomach for
car rides. So you might consider travel by plane for
vacations until your babies are old enough to turn
their car seats around.Good luck and keep those barf
bags handy! Detailing the carseats is such a
 nightmare....

I sold two maxi-cosi car seats on CL, but also
cross-posted the ad link on the Bernal Heights parents
board. I sold one thru CL directly, and the other to a
BH parent. Be sure to take lots of photos, especially
of the expiration date stamp on the backside. Since
mine were brand-new, I managed to get $120 each for
them, but a good rule of thumb for used items is to
price them just below half off and them adjust down for
condition. I've also found in general that it helps to
stage your photos well. Find a nice, clean, well-lit
spot to take your pictures. People want to know the
item comes from a clean, orderly home. Good luck!
