Palega Recreation Center Grand Reopening on November 16

You are cordially invited to join San Francisco Recreation and Park Department General
Manager Phil Ginsburg, the Palega Community Recreation Council, the San Francisco
Public Library, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and the San Francisco Department
of Public Works for the grand reopening ceremony of Palega Recreation Center on 
Saturday, November 16th. The celebration will take place from 11 am to 1pm and will
include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 am followed by music, tours, and entertainment
for children and families.

Thank you to Gear Up and San Francisco Parks Alliance for helping to raise $40k 
to furnish the new Palega Rec Center!

Thank You to the Warriors!

We thank NBA Cares and the Warriors Team who brought  a total of 260 community volunteers,
3 neighborhood group advocates and Warrior fans that contributed 780 volunteer hours
of service to McLaren Park on Monday October 21st in Districts 9, 10 and 11 of San
Francisco. We hosted 5 project locations that helped to support: Friends of Crocker
Amazon; McLaren Park Collaborative; Saturdays at McLaren and Friends of the AMP 
and Louis Sutter Playground Site. Thank you to those that volunteered, we appreciated
your support in making this one of the largest volunteer events at Mclaren Park!

Mobile Rec at Potrero Hill Playground on November 9

Come out and play on the Recreation and Parks Department's Mobile Rec gear! No need
to travel far, all through the school year the equipment rotate through parks or
 recreation centers all over San Francisco on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm. You will
be able to learn techniques and test your skills on the Department's 30-foot rock
climbing wall or get skateboarding and biking tips and learn tricks from RecPark
 Staff! Get ready to ride the ramps, rails and manual pads on our BMX bikes and 
skateboards. RPD staff will be on hand to teach beginner's the basics of kick-turns,
fakies, and dropping in.

This Saturday, November 9 Mobile Rec will be at Potrero Hill Playground, at 801 
Arkansas Street.
