We're ringing in the holiday season with new exhibits, new animal residents, and
 a new playground!

New Playground
Crawl through a beaver dam, slide down an iceberg, or swing through a banyan tree
as we celebrate the grand re-opening of the Elinor Friend Playground! There's a 
River Play Area for toddlers, a Polar Zone exploration space for pre-schoolers, 
and a Banyan Tree climbing structure for pre-teens (and zoo staff made sure to test
out each and every swing and slide... for "work" of course.)

Reindeer Arrive
Santa is sending our four favorite reindeer, Belle, Holly, Peppermint, and Velvet
to spread holiday cheer to Bay Area children of all ages. Until January 1, these
 majestic animals will be on display at the Zoo to teach us all about how and where
they live in the wild. So put on that bright-red scarf, pick up a hot chocolate 
at Café Playfield, and head on over to the Playfield Lawn to see and learn about
 these beautiful animals.

Precious Peccaries
Brace yourself for cuteness. We're thrilled to announce the birth of two litters
 of Chacoan peccary pups. Two of the pups were born on October 27 and four were 
born on October 29. That makes a total of six pups for this endangered species! 
Please stop by this weekend to see them in their exhibit across from Eagle Island
next to Terrace Café.

We're Thankful for... Members' Mornings!
