Bring batteries and CFLs in separate containers. This minimises the 
possiblility of CFLs breaking in transit.

They do not accept broken CFLs. The recommended procedure for 
recycling broken CFLs is to wrap the broken CFL in a plastic bag, wrap 
that bag in another plastic bag, and then call the city for a 
hazardous waste pickup or take it to the hazardous waste section at 
the dump.
