1. New and Expectant Meeting, Day One closure
--------------------------------------------------------
CarinSF - 9/22/2013 8:11 pm

Our last New and Expectant meeting for the next month
or two is this Tuesday!I just got an email from Day One
and they said the following: we just found out on
Thursday that we are not able to extend our lease for
the month of October and our new space on Sacramento
Street will not be ready until sometime in November
(hopefully).I'm sorry for the late notice but we will
not be able to host your meetings in October and most
likely November. I'll get in contact with you once we
have a firm opening date to resume meetings. This is
different from what they told me two weeks ago, so I
apologize for the confusion. I would be open to having
folks come meet at my house in the interim, on second
and fourth Tuesdays, perhaps in the late afternoon i.e.
from 4-5:30 when I can ship my kids off to their
grandparents' house, if there is an interest in
continuing on during the Day One closure. I live in the
inner Sunset and there is always tons of parking in
front on my house. LMK if you'd like to switch over to
my place in October, otherwise, I'll assume folks want
to take a break until we hear more from Day One. Hope
to see you guys on Tuesday!

2. Sudden middle of night wake up
--------------------------------------------------------
anonymous - 9/22/2013 9:34 am

My girls are 3.5 months and for about 4-5 weeks they
have been on a predictable (pretty amazing)
schedule:7-8 pm bedtime5-6:30 am wake up, eat, go right
back down8:30-9:30 wake up for the day. During the day
I've been doing six feedings every 2.5 hours (sometimes
2.25). They are exclusively breastfed and i pump once
around 10 pm before i go to sleep. They've been growing
at a normal to above normal rate. Nothing has changed
about our daytime routine. And my 10 pm pumping session
is still producing the same amount. Then two nights ago
Baby A woke up at 2:30 am. I got her back to sleep, but
she woke back up screaming her head off. So I fed her.
Her sister slept through it. They woke up again at 6:45
(later than normal), ate then went right back down and
slept until 10 am. Then last night they went to sleep
at the late end of the normal time frame, at 8 pm. They
both woke up at 2:30 am crying. I fed them. Then I had
to wake them up at 8 am (I had an appointment to go
to). I fed them and we kept them up like a normal eat,
play sleep cycle instead of going right back down,
since it is so much later in the day.It didn't seem the
right thing to do cry it out because they must be
hungry - I know they can sleep through the night so
they are waking up for some reason. I never had to do
CIO in the middle of the night - only at bedtime to
learn how to fall asleep. Wise twin moms, what do you
think is going on? After the first middle of the night
wake up I was very diligent yesterday about hydrating
and eating. Do you think they are going through a
growth spurt? Is my milk production down or somehow
not enough anymore? I have noticed that they will just
nurse continuously - I have to pull them off after
25-30 mins. I can't tell if this is because they are
pacifying themselves or they are still hungry. They
don't generally cry when I pull them off, except Baby A
did cry a few times and it might have been that night
she woke up. I let her nurse a little more until she
came off and didn't cry. No strange crying yesterday. I
thought today I would add a little pumping in after
each feeding to see if I can increase my supply. How
can I tell if I need to supplement? Do I need to give
them an extra bottle after they nurse in the evenings?
Any thoughts or suggestions for who to speak to
(consultants) much appreciated. I want to get back to
 no 2:30 am wake ups!
