Hi! We have yet to travel with our twins but will be
taking them to Kauai when they are nine months old. I
am a total rookie but did as much research as possible.
This is where we landed:Decided to purchase these car
seats to use exclusively for travel. Cheap = don't have
to worry about them getting grungy. Great reviews
regarding safety (Consumer Reports) and ease of use
(minimal weight). I got the zebra print for vacation
 flair

decided to take seats rather than renting them from a
car agency for two reasons:1. We will use them in
conjunction with Gogo Babyz wheelie platforms in lieu
of strollers/baby carriers while in airport. (I am not
brave enough to try and wear these rascals for any
 extended length of

 time.)http://www.amazon.com/Go-Go-Babyz-NMTM-Mini-Travelmate/dp/B00D45BF6G/ref=pd_sim_ba_42.
I got a little nervous reading about the seats car
rental agencies sometimes supply. Read many accounts of
pieces missing or the seats not being available,
despite multiple confirmations. Even though we will
plan on gate checking the seats (for this trip at
least, it may be the one and only time we try to keep
them on our laps), I went ahead and ordered a
heavy-duty bag to protect them. Less expensive options
seem to have very limited durability and these days, my
motto is 'do it once, do it right, hope you never have
 to do it

 again'.http://www.walmart.com/ip/JL-Childress-Ultimate-Padded-Car-Seat-Travel-Bag/4698052(You
can find these everywhere, I am buying them from
WalMart bc we have a gift card)Also, I downloaded this.
Nothing earth-shattering but definitely worth the price
of a latte to have all these tips + tricks
