my experience is nearly identical to taryn's. i worked
at ucsf children's hospital too. long days. and i wore
out weeks earlier than i expected. listen to your body
like you've never done before. get a dr.'s note from
anyone to get you off work when you start to sense your
body can't handle being up and about. advocate for
yourself (and your babies) like you've never done
before. understand your individual risk for your
pregnancy, not just general statistical risk with
twins. i worked for ucsf from home for a few extra
weeks from the couch. but eventually just couldn't do
even that. i'd need to sleep, or just couldn't
concentrate for hours on end. it was tough. i couldn't
walk far and was slow as a snail. i got a handicap pass
and could park in front of the pool and swim. i felt
human in the water. it lifted my spirits and lowered my
blood pressure. was great. talk now with your ob about
applying for a temp handicap parking permit beginning
at 25 weeks or so. don't know if you know about the
barbara luke book about diet while carrying
twins/multiples. basics are 90 grams of protein/day and
3litres of water/day. minimum. think 38/39 weeks in
your head. everyone says 36 is full term with
multiples. but 38-42 weeks is full term with a
singleton. you're cooking up two singletons. take it
really really easy. every extra day in utero counts.
 good luck! hugs!

Lucien,I'd love to have the contact info for that
postpartum doula. I'm due with twins in December and
will be looking for someone to help with teaching,
 especially breastfeeding, after the birth.
 Thanks!-Susan
