We are travelling for the first time from SFO to New
York with our 1 year old girls. Our parents will also
be travelling with us. The plane has 3 seats on each
side.Should I book window seats or aisle seats? Should
my parents sit in front or in back of us? Or maybe have
one whole row with 1 seat across the aisle?

I'm currently 30 weeks and on modified bedrest due to
shortened cervix (1.7 cm as of Friday) and frequent
contractions. I manage a sales team and have a fairly
intense job and type-A personality. Like you, I wanted
to plan every detail and understand exactly when I
would need to go out on leave, if I would be on bed
rest, etc. Because much of my earnings is
commissions-based I have a strong incentive to stay
working as close to my due date as possible.
However...in the last 2 weeks I am caring a lot less
about the money and really just want to stop working
entirely, despite being able to do everything from teh
phone and computer. Here's why: Laying on my back is
not comfortable, so I try to lay on my side, however
that makes it impossible to type on computer. I have a
reclining chair that helps, but I also have the
beginnings of what feels like carpal tunnel syndrome,
possibly due to the lack of blood flow to my hands. My
hands tend to swell and "freeze" up, making it tough to
type. Also, I'm just plain tired. I walk like I'm 95
years old, and even just getting up and down out of the
recliner, couch or bed is a chore. Like you, I am
typically on the petite side (5'3" 125 lbs) and very
fit. You are going to go through big changes around 27
or 28 weeks if you are like me and priorities shift. I
would say just have an open mind and know that it's ok
to not be Superwoman for the time being, and your one
and only job right now is to create a space for the
healthiest babies. No one else can do that job but you.
