Does anyone have a suggestion for Cantonese language
classes (once a week) for five year olds?

angel island, boat from tiburon, and wearing them in
ergos on your back, or pushing them in the stroller.
loved doing stuff like that with the girls around that
age. our girls slept in the car en route and on the way
back. gave us a good window from 11-1 for an outing. we
could stretch the window if we were moving in the
stroller or wearing the girls in our ergos on our backs
and walking.from the ferry building on the ferry to
jack london square is nice too. crispy field is good at
this age too since they're not fast yet at darting in
the water (in opposite directions!)presidio 'off the
grid' on sundays for lunch on the grass.we drove up to
dry creek a lot with the girls at that age to have
picnics at wineries (preston is a favorite). the long
car ride was great while they are still on a two-nap
schedule. they'd sleep on the way up and on the way
back and we'd play in the grass. long drives get harder
once they drop from 2 naps to 1 (in my experience).
 hope these help! best, jen

my kids didn't start napping for longer stretches until
between 6-8 months, when i got meals down to four/day -
waking, 12noon, 4pm, 7pm or so... then naps from
9-11am and 1-3pm fell into place. hope this helps!

a couple of afterthoughts about naps... i worked on
naps in cribs during the afternoon nap first. my first
goal was to get them comfy/happy with being in their
cribs for nap. every day, around 1pm, i'd put on quiet
music (norah jones' album on loop). change diapers. get
ready for nap. lowered the blinds (but it was never
pitch black). the music became a cue they could rely
on. i still use it at bedtime when we start the
wind-down routine. [i put a nice arm chair in their
room with a side table and foot rest. i'd have a cup of
tea, my laptop, a stack of books.]for a few weeks, i'd
sit in the armchair, and hang out with them during
their nap. with me there, they'd play quietly in their
cribs, reading their stack of books, playing with their
stuffed toys. we'd all sit there and 'read', listen to
quiet music, have quiet time. eventually they'd fall
asleep. and i'd tip toe out, or just sit there and keep
reading! again, my goal was just to get them
comfortable/accustomed to being in their cribs during
the afternoon. (little did i know then, but in
hindsight, this worked out really well! because in a
few months your kids will start to drop the morning
nap! so, having afternoon nap in place in the cribs is
worth the effort!) most mornings, rain or shine, i'd
take the girls for a long walk in the stroller,
sometimes for a couple of hours - up to 5 miles,
listening to an audiobook on my iphone. i tried to time
it during their nap (9-11am zone).anyhow...just a few
thoughts...i thought i'd pass along. hope this
helps.best, jen ps - check out the 'indestructibles'
line of books for wee ones. they're great! and made by
 a mom of multiples!
