We used the Arms Reach co-sleeper in the standard size,
and found it to be much sturdier and more durable than
the PnP. We only ever used it in the bassinet
configuration and laid them swaddled side by side
crosswise. We put a small rolled hand towel under the
middle split in the folding matress, so each babe had a
well-defined area that they couldn't roll out of.When
they got too big to share, we finally got another PnP
for road trips. The PnP was as lot lighter and much
easier to set up, but we still appreciate the
sturdiness of the Arms Reach. We now put our heavier,
more active boy in that one when we travel.I will also
add that we almost always kept the bassinet in the
living room for those first few weeks (we'd trade off
snoozing on the couch for whoever was "on shift" each
night), so if you're not planning to move it or break
it down often, I'd go with the cosleeper. If
portability is a priority, I'd go with the Pack n Play.

we used a lalapanzi around the house and it's so light
we brought it to friends' places too. they slept in it
together during the day. or one in the swing and one in
it. or one on me and one in it. i could use it
downstairs in the living room. or in the crib in our
room. or the crib in their room. or on the floor
beside our bed at night. or on our bed while i was
folding clothes. loved that it was light and mobile.
the girls are now three and tuck their bears into it.
so cute.
http://lalapanzibeds.3dcartstores.com/Lalapanzi-Travel-Beds_c_1.htmlwe
had a crib in our room beside our bed. and another in
their room. around 4/5 months the crib in our room went
into their room to its permanent configuration. around
2 months we bought a big square graco pack 'n play.
then another about a month later. these are amazing.
huge. take up so much floor space. but they're big,
stable, enough room for kids to really play. and you
can separate the kids so they don't hurt each other
(inadvertently, once they start
crawling/kicking/rolling). love these. flew back and
forth across country with them over two years for
portable cribs. (bought fitted sheets for them online.)
love the size. love that they are big enough that the
kids could grow into them and still have room to play.
my girls loved playing in them for hours.

this helps!

Depending on the age of your kids, maybe you could let
her bring her kid along and you could pay her a little
less (or not). That's what we did and it worked out
fine. I would only do this if your kids are not
infants. Sent from my iPhone

Does she live in SF? There are public preschools with
sliding scale tuition based on income level, although
many have a wait list. I'm not familiar with the school
system in San Mateo county, but it's possible they have
something similar? Here's more info on the SF programs:
http://www.sfusd.edu/en/programs-and-services/early-education/what-services-are-provided.htmlCo-ops
are great if she has extra time during the week (i.e.,
if she doesn't work full time) that she can spend
teaching/helping out at the school. Once her son turns
4, he would be eligible for Preschool for All, which
provides a subsidy for all 4 year olds attending a
preschool that participates in the program (regardless
of income level). I don't know the exact details of
costs, but my understanding is that it reduces costs by
approx $400/month, so she would just have to pay the
difference between that and the full tuition costs.
Here's more information on that program:
