Register for Our Jr. Warriors Basketball League Beginning Saturday, November 1

Rec and Park's All-City Youth Basketball program presents the 2015 Jr. Warriors 
League, featuring divisions for boys and girls in K through 8th grades. Registration
begins Saturday, November 1 at 10 a.m., online or in-person at St. Mary's Rec Center
(Murray and Justin Drive).  League play is January 6 through March 14 with games
 played on Thursday, Friday or Saturdays.

Fees range from $70 to $80 per player or $425 to $475 per team. Scholarships are
 available.

Lessons Learned at Philly Parks Future Forum

SF Rec and Park and General Manager Phil Ginsburg were honored to be a  part of 
the panel at the Philly Parks Future Forum in Philadelphia last  week to discuss
 how city parks are one of the greatest assets to our  country and how they are

Scaregrove Makes Halloween Season Special

Scaregrove, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department's annual Halloween 
event at Sigmund Stern Grove, was again a resounding success, as thousands of ghoulish
goblins and goblinettes joined together on October 24 and enjoyed carnival rides,
a haunted house, hay rides, games, food and live entertainment.  This Friday, be
 safe and have a Happy Halloween!

was  born in San Francisco in 1924 and calls himself a "third or fourth  generation
native." He grew up around the Peninsula, and got into  photography in high school
- "because cameras were cool and I thought it  would be a good way to get girls,"
he said.
